[Breaking news] "Dragon Quest" new insider trading case Arrested famous game creator, arrested 3 people Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office Special Investigation Department social affairs department Friday, November 18, 2022 10:51 am The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office has arrested Yuji Naka (57), a game creator, today in connection with an insider trading case involving development information for a new version of the popular game "Dragon Quest." According to the special investigation unit, the suspect was an employee of the major game company "Square Enix" (Square Enix) around late January 2020, when Square Enix and the online game production company "Aiming" were jointly developing. In addition, he learned important information about the new game "Dragon Quest Tact" for smartphones. The suspect allegedly bought about 10,000 shares of "Aiming" for about 2.8 million yen before the information was announced. The suspect was arrested for insider trading under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act. SQUARE ENIX The suspect allegedly engaged in insider trading when he was an employee of Square Enix. • The Blizzard-NetEase deal, which was first struck back in August 2008, will now expire in January 2023 after the two firms were unable to agree on renewal terms.

• Chinese players dug around and claim these are Blizzards demands that NetEase disagreed with:

• And while ActiBlizz won't be selling games in China despite bending over backwards to profit there, this isn't going to be the end for their ventures into Poohland. Many assume they're window shopping for another publisher as of writing, not that I can cite anything.
