Yuzu (Emulator) - Yuzu

maruposting: I want to make it perfectly clear, Yuzu was absolutely paywalling early access builds. There are multiple programs and Githubs made specifically to get around this because it was so annoying that they would paywall fixes for every major title. Support emulation and f--- Nintendo, but don't cover up Yuzu's legitimately s----- practices to make your case. Go use Ryujinx instead. Oh hey it looks like they are releasing telemetry data as a part of the settlement which also includes official Citra builds. Strange that they kept all that and user metrics. I don't recall a way to opt out of that. Dig into this even a little bit and it's mountains of horrible practices and behavior for both Citra and Yuzu teams. Their incredible hostility towards other emulator devs, especially towards Cemu. (Who they criticized over paywalling btw Imao) This is more of a personal criticism, but when people are regularly linking 4chan threads to get a decent unofficial build of your emulator because your support for unofficial branches is so bad, you might have a problem. The latter half of the 3DS life cycle was a very unique type of hell for emulation. All of these very specific projects and poor practices aside. EMULATION IS VITAL Hundreds of completely unpaid hours go into emulation development which have made countless games playable across the world even with physical unavailability. They help bridge language and geographic barriers and are especially vital for lost media documentation. Not to mention digital media ownership being revoked and digital marketplaces shutting down every few months, there are so few reliable ways to hold onto digital media. Don't let irresponsible companies like Nintendo or Sony or Microsoft crush efforts to prevent that.
