Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog In Donkey Kong Country Returns, a hidden Easter egg allows one of the bosses to be defeated slightly faster by feeding him multiplayer- exclusive peanuts. Donkey Kong Country Returns contains a multiplayer-only mechanic whereby Diddy Kong can shoot peanuts from his Peanut Popgun while riding on Donkey Kong's back, by shaking Player 2's Wii Remote. While Diddy Kong rides on Donkey Kong's back in single-player mode as well, this action is exclusive to the multiplayer mode. During some of his animations, Thugly opens his mouth. If Diddy shoots a peanut into his mouth during this, Thugly will eat it. This at first appears to be purely cosmetic, as it does not slow Thugly down or change any of his behavior. He and Mugly have a hidden mechanic that interacts with the peanuts. ...he will enter a special animation where he will stop and eat that peanut more slowly than the others, during which hearts appear around him and he actually reveals his weak point. As this can be activated at any time, it allows the player to bypass waiting for him to reveal his weak point by reaching the correct point in his cycle, allowing him to be beaten faster.
