Probably the creepiest part is that this thing is supposed to be what a aborted fetus transforms into on limbo and then is sent back to earth, and he wanders around mountains and forests. The nice thing is according to the folklore he only likes to make travelers wander astray coming back to the way he came, and sort of trick then.

I don't know why i got so much in depth but that's a pretty interesting folklore.
