Truth be told, it really is a shame that we won't see Lauren's original plans for the show fully envisioned. This show was basically her baby, and having her leave something she put her heart and soul into is pretty heart-wrenching.

With luck, after the show ends we'll get to see her Show Bible, the thing that basically contained all the planned stuff she had written out during the design stage.
Hopefully MLP:FIM doesn't become the never-ending cash cow that Spongebob became, or we'll have to wait a decade or more for it. But the Hub, being owned by Hasbro, will most certainly never stop keeping the show going. For better or worse.
