Funnily enough, his comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was written at about the same time and was based off the same source material – the myth of Pyramus and Thisbe.
In "Midsumer" the star-crossed lovers escape into a magic forest where a group of faeries intervene and arrange things so that they can be together happily ever after.
In "romeo and Juliet," there are no faeries, and, well . . .
