Actually, this is an interesting thought experiment.
How would 4Kids change a series with such kid-friendly concepts as parental abandonment, suicide, sex, insanity, homosexuality and Judeo-Christian symbolism?
And then you get to End of Evangelion where the main character masturbates over a comatose body and you ask, how could they to begin with?
