Not only has Gamergate floated at the top of the toilet bowl like the faecal matter it is, memes about anti-feminism, fat-shaming and 'bikini bodies; have become more prevalent. The articles themselves aren't usually that slanted, but the comments...oh God, the comments. It makes me sad how within the past eight months, iconic corners of this web space have been taken over by Gamergate ideology. I have no doubts that internet users have held these opinions for a long time, but like a Neo-Nazi rally they openly parade their parochiality nowadays. It makes me wonder what the cyberspace will look like in the decades to come; whether the gators will be flushed down into the sewers (oh look! Even more conspiracy theories!) or if they'll continue to fester.
