Voting with our wallets makes a good statement towards these people that Gamergate is against Kotaku is already trying to keep traffic to itself by turning it into buzzfeed-tier bottom-level maymay s---, making articles out of random images found on social media if they think it's attention-grabbing enough. They have a temporary answer to stall for time while distracting from the gaming controversy. This might be based heavily on speculation, but if Disrespectful Nod is the only thing that we do, then we're going to lose this battle inb4 "defeatist shill pls go" >inb4 OP can't inb4, hear me out If we want to compare wallets and page views to votes, then we're forgetting about the silent majority of voters. We already have a strong public image, but we lack in the publicity and assured content that Kotaku and the likes have. The holiday season's been discussed here quite a bit, but I don't think that everyone knows just how dire it is. Once Super Smash Bros is on the shelves, people are going to want to read reviews for it. Same with Pokemon or any other hyped game. If they want the information, they're going to go to the most convenient website. If Kotaku gets enough of a spike in traffic that Disrespectful Nod loses credibility, then we lose our main weapon against these sites.
