So Simmons was suspended for calling out journalism ethics of Goodwill in his NFL podcast because Simmons is a figurehead to fans, that he is also a fan himself, and that fans would have shared his view and go against Goodwill?

Isn't that similar to gamers?

We have our figureheads, such as InternetAristocrat and Total Biscuit, and we too get silenced by Kotaku and other anti-GG sites because we are gamers, fans of games, for calling out their journalism ethics.

I'm not really sure as to what Amanda'a argument here was.

I like how the very first part of the article is trying to call out on Gamergate, yeah such expected professionalism from a blogger (her wikipedia page explicitly points that out). Also after trying to look at Amanda Marcotte's twitter feed, she really gives off the SJW or radical feminist vibe. The article she wrote is just a pathetic attempt to discredit Gamergate, trying to appeal to "bigger problems."
