I always wondered… how come with games like Sonic '06, why couldn't they patch the games, thus fixing glitches? Is it for certain games only? If so, why?

I'd say that it would be kinda odd, mainly because patches should kinda be free, because they're fixing the games glitches. But, considering how buggy Rise of Lyric was (Not bad, Buggy) fixing it might just make the game feel like a whole new experience.
