I've been trying to educate myself on the topic, and while the first wave of Feminism wasn't perfect by any means, it actually believed in the power and agency of women. This new Feminism, with its constant victimization of the very people it's supposed to be helping, is starting to create entire generations of co-dependant, weak-willed women who believe they can't do anything on their own or even think for themselves.

And frankly, that's more disgusting than anything /v/ might do.

The scaring away of women from tech fields isn't just a side effect of the literalys' screams of constant harassment--it's a necessity. Think about it, these are people who are incapable of creating a quality product, so they have to rely on pity dollars. Every bit of Brianna Wu's ridiculously huge Patreon sum is the result of some idiot who thinks they have to leap to the defense of a woman being attacked and not because Revolution 60 is a masterpiece and they want to see more of that. Thing is, there's only so many pity dollars to go around, and the minute a cuter female appears in the same field, they'll have to compete again, and we already know that's not happening. Convincing girls that they should stay away from gaming because the big bad men are going to harass them away is an integral part of their strategy because they need that delicious white-knight pie to be cut into the fewest number of pieces possible.
