People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) - "you're a plant"

Technically, the Pikmin are much closer to being Protista (protists). Protists are (usually) tiny, eukaryotic organisms which do not fit squarely into the animal, plant, or fungus categories; most of these organisms aren't related, but are often grouped together for convenience purposes. Some protists (namely, the Euglena family) are known to possess both animal and plant characteristics, such as obtaining energy through photosynthesis and by preying on smaller (micro)organisms. Coincidentally, so do Pikmin… Either way, PETA is in the wrong here.
