Notes:

Sometime before the game actually begins, the main villain secretly killed the king of a country with a powerful military, and replaced him with his loyal water-elemental servant in disguise, so that he could take over without anyone knowing and discreetly use the kingdom's might to further his plans.

I just described a plot point in both Fire Emblem Fates and Final Fantasy IV.
