This entry contains content that may be considered sensitive to some viewers.

Overview

The Lacari Notepad Controversy refers to an incident in which Twitch streamer Lacari accidentally opened a Notepad file during a stream that revealed a link to an EMLOAD folder with over 1,700 files containing pornographic, potentially illegal, content allegedly related to teens, lolicon, bestiality, family nudism and more. The incident took place on January 22nd, 2026, and quickly went viral on sites like X / Twitter and the /r/Livestreamfail subreddit, inspiring other streamers to react to the clip.

During the livestream, Lacari tried to play it off by claiming a virus put the content on his computer, scanning his computer on stream. Shortly after, Lacari was banned from both Twitch and Kick. The incident was compared by many to a 2024 incident in which Twitch streamer Vaush opened a porn folder on stream, similarly revealing explicit, controversial content.

Background

The livestream in which Lacari accidentally opened the Notepad file visible on his screen took place in the early morning hours on January 22nd, 2026, but the VOD and stream have since been removed from Twitch following his ban from the platform.

That same day, Redditor Daytime506 posted a clip to the /r/LivestreamFail[1] subreddit titled, "Lacari accidentally leaks his notepad with download links to very suspicious filenames," garnering over 24,000 upvotes in a day.

The clip shows streamer Lacari accidentally opening a Notepad file on stream. Text is shown reading "folder COUPLES TEENS" followed by a link to an EMLOAD folder. In the clip, the notepad link has been censored by a green box.

Also on January 22nd, X[2] user @ShaoIRL reposted a video scrolling through the folder that was linked in Lacari's note, garnering over 1,300 likes in a day. The video shows a folder with over 1,700 files, with titles that include words like "teen," "nudism family," "girls and animals," "lolicon" and "jailbait."

Lacari's Response

After leaking the notepad contents, during the same stream, Lacari purportedly claimed that the files, which he referred to as "illegal," were planted on him through a virus. He performed a virus scan on the livestream, which claimed that there were no viruses found on his computer.[3]

Asmongold's "Second PC" Comment

On January 22nd, 2026, X[4] user @Awk20000 posted a clip from Lacari's stream in which he revealed the Notepad file where he claims that streamer Asmongold DMed him, telling him that he needs a "second PC" for that type of stuff, garnering over 5,600 likes in a day.

Asmongold commented on the post, writing, "Info had just come out and the clip I saw had the names and everything censored. Obviously I wouldn't have said this if I knew what the content was," garnering over 10,000 likes in a day.

Ban From Twitch and Kick

Hours after Lacari leaked the Notepad on January 22nd, 2026, he was reportedly banned from streaming on both Twitch and Kick.

News of the bans was posted to the /r/LivestreamFail[5][6] subreddit that day by Redditors whywhateverso and Gingeneer1, garnering over 16,000 upvotes and 7,100 upvotes, respectively, in a day.

Lacari's Response On X / Twitter

On January 23rd, 2026, Lacari made a post on X[12] responding to the incident. In the post, he claims he is getting help with an addiction to porn and taking a hiatus from streaming and content creation.

Lacari @Lacari Ø ... During my last stream I opened notepad which revealed a link. The list in the link included titles that suggested child sex abuse material further down. I have never consumed this type of content nor do I think it's acceptable. I decided to keep streaming in an effort to downplay the severity of the situation which was deceptive. This was a mistake that I deeply regret and apologize for. The link gave access to abusive material for anyone to see, this is serious and harmful. I recognize that trivializing abusive material on stream is not ok and can lead to real harm. It's my responsibility to provide a safe space for my community and peers in which I failed to do. I am taking real steps to change my ways. I've admitted myself into a P--- Addiction Recovery Program that will last 30 days. During this time I'll be able to workout there while also receiving professional therapy and treatment for my addiction. Browsing hentai and p--- websites as an escape has been a serious problem for as long as I can remember. This treatment will come with an indefinite hiatus to my livestreams to allow myself to focus on recovery, so I can hopefully contribute a net- positive to society.
