Brain Power is a copypasta and a form of chat spam spread over the online streaming service Twitch by spamming the lyrics of the song "Brain Power" by Noma, which originates in the 2013 music game SOUND VOLTEX II: infinite infection.

Origin

The song Brain Power, by Noma, is one of the default songs in the music game SOUND VOLTEX II: infinite infection, released in 2013 by KONAMI as part of its BEMANI series.^[2] An extended version of the track appears on ''Noma's 1st Album''.^[3] The song is notable for its vocal line consisting entirely of stock voice samples, and its ending vocal:

The song was uploaded to YouTube on May 26th, 2016 by YouTuber Vash, gaining over 24 million views (shown below).

Spread

This song gained a greater degree of popularity when it was mapped for the free music game Osu! It's uncertain which Twitch^[1] live-streamer first played the Osu level live on their stream, but the most popular YouTube recording of the spam was uploaded by user "ReeseWasHere"^[4] on November 26th, 2015. The video was a third-party recording of Twitch user "Shigetora" ^[5] playing the level. The video currently has 670,000 views as of March 2021. The widespread audience soon took hold of the meme, and it began to spread.

Quickly after it was made popular by well-known Twitch Osu streamers, the map in question exploded, achieving over 1,000 favorites from users.^[6] "Brain Power" was by no means limited to Osu! streams, however. The song has featured in playlists in a variety of streamers, including Civilization V, ^[7] League of Legends and Guitar Hero (examples shown below).
