Marriage Reveal

On June 15th, 2018, YouTuber L OF THE DAY posted a video exposing that Amouranth was married to a man named Nick Lee. He accused Amouranth of lying to her subscribers, using clips in which she stated she was single, and suggested that she lied in order to have her patrons think that they might have a romantic chance with her (of note, the information that Amouranth is married was publicly available on Facebook).

The video caused problems for Amouranth, who later gave a statement to SyFy[1] saying she had been doxxed and harassed since the information became public. She also stated she wanted the L of the Day video taken down. She also appeared to sarcastically respond to the controversy in one of her streams,[6] saying:

"Haven't you heard the news? Every female on the internet is eligible to be dated by people who see her. She's an eligible candidate for every person who sees her. That is the law of the land.
No matter where she lives, no matter what their compatibility might be, no matter what their sexual preferences are, anything. If she's on the internet, 'bobs and vagene', you can date her."

In November, a few examples of the fallout from the controversy spread online in mockery of the supporters who believed they had a romantic shot with her. One example is an old clip form a ComicCon stream in which a moderator of one of her chats attempts to give her a high five and is ignored (shown below).

Another example is a screenshot of a message exchange between one of her moderators and herself in which the moderator expresses disappointment and anger at the discovery of her marital status. The exchange was posted to /r/cringetopia on November 28th, 2018 (shown below).

mod: So I'm on /r/livestreamfail.. and there's news you have a husband? This can't be true right? Amouranth: I do have a husband. But obviously I'm not gonna mention him because then people get turned off by that idea. Do you know what I mean? mod: No, I don't understand it. Why did you hide having a husband? Amouranth: Why is it any of your business anyways? Am I not allowed to keep that aspect of my life private? mod: Ive been supporting you for 2 years now. Im always moderating your chat making sure dumbasses don't say s--- about you... Do you know how much I support you?I always donate to you... Ive given you thousands of dollars at this point Amouranth: And I am still thankful for that? mod: And 2 months ago do you remember what you said to me? I had just got off work and I sent you a picture of my "bored but tired" face on Snapchat. And you said I looked cute. Obviously you know how much I like you. I was gonna fly out to TwitchCon this year... I was hoping we'd maybe get a few drinks afterwards, just you and me... see where the night takes us. And now this comes out? I feel like such a moron. Amouranth: Don't say that. Listen of course you're cute! I am so thankful to call you my friend. And you are such a big supporter of me but I do have a husband and that's just how it is. I'm sorry if you had other intentions in mind but I am taken mod: I don't need you. There are a whole lot of other streamers that deserve my time and support. As they say there are plenty of other fish in the sea. Fish without husbands too... you liar skank. I will no longer be dedicating 1/3 of my day to moderating your chat. Let the wildebeests roam... and if you need me, I'll be in STPeach's chat from now on. You may not know this but I actually do watch her streams after yours are over And Ive been a 6 month subscriber as well... I donated her $30 the other day and said her outfit looked cute she said I'm a sweetheart. Things are looking up for me (and down for you). This is where I bid farewell to you, have fun being a liar bitchface. Share Save twitch
