Yes, it's another news-like thread from RussianFedora.

Apparently, a meteor nearly hit earth today. Nearly as in in the same area as our GPS satellites. Scientists calculated that it wouldn't hit earth, but the meteor did come close enough to be notable. It passed earth this afternoon, and scientists got that snapshot above.

So that isn't colour enhanced at all? That's how it showed up in the sky? Pretty cool.

"Not surprisingly due to the very fast motion, around 200 arc seconds per minute, the asteroid shifted between color images being taken leaving me with a red streak, a green streak and a blue one! With this data its possible to calculate the asteroid's speed."
