Luke the Warrior was the greatest book of my childhood. And it was one of the open-ended ending that I actually enjoyed.

There was an article in the New York Times recently about how this question is even more complicated in the modern world of online social networking. Blogs, Facebook accounts, etc. tend to remain after their owners do not.
