I have a feeling these numbers aren't entirely accurate, since I doubt over 3,000 users joined in the month between when 404 joined and when I joined.

Note that the above method will fail if there is a user whose name resolves typographically to that number. Right now, https://knowyourmeme.com/users/3 goes to a user whose name is "<3" instead of Irene, and while there may be a user #2, https://knowyourmeme.com/users/2 will send you to the page of a user named "$2$".

BTW, while the number method sometimes fails, I'm pretty sure that linking to a username always works, i.e., https://knowyourmeme.com/users/Brucker will go to my profile no matter what my current nickname is and no matter who else might be using the nickname "Brucker".
