I'm gonna X Today/Nope is series of comics that display an instance where someone who is trying to accomplish something fails because of an activity, usually a leisurely one, that gets in the way. Most instances involve the internet or specific sites, but video games have also been mentioned.

Origin

On June 7, 2011, digital artist Adri Tibbs uploaded a comic to her main Tumblr account^[1] that featured her losing the battle to get anything productive done because of Tumblr:

The image picked up views on the site, and began to be reposted. An edit appeared where the "Tumblr" banner had been replaced with a gray "Internet banner", which began to appear on reddit^[2], and other image sharing sites. A month later, Adri posted the comic on her DeviantART^[3].

Spread

On September 6, 2011, a thread on Facepunch^[4] was formed called "Yeah! I'm gonna get stuff done today!!" punch "Nope." The thread was created solely for edits of the comic. So far, the thread is still being posted in, at 5 pages.

On November 16, 2011, the original edit of the image with the "internet" banner was posted to the Comixed section of Memebase^[5]. Since then, several edits have appeared, covering topics like Skyrim, the Muppets Movie, and Memebase itself.
