Meme review
See The Winner Of April 2026's Meme Of The Month!
And the winner of April's Meme of the Month award, with 17.5 percent of the total votes, is …
Scientology Runs! The trend of speedrunning through Scientology Centers, mostly the one in Hollywood, and trying to get as far in as possible without being kicked out blew up on social media in April as it swept the nation.
Starting out on TikTok, videos of people storming the building and darting through its halls amassed millions of views. The trend was brought to new heights as the videos were reposted on sites like X / Twitter, where they gained even more eyeballs. Soon, whole groups of people were storming the building, making it harder for the Scientology Center workers to wrangle up the runners.
The trend inspired memes about what might be waiting at the top of the Scientology Center for the runners, including a lot of jokes about infamous Scientologist Tom Cruise waiting up there like a video game boss. It also sparked discourse over whether or not Scientology speedruns actually do anything meaningful to discourage people from joining Scientology.
As the trend became more popularized in recent weeks, the Scientology Center purportedly removed the handles on its front doors, suggesting the organization got a bit sick of people storming its buildings. Congratulations, runners. Even if you didn't stop Scientology, at least you made Meme of the Month.

Doorbell Chud
Coming in a very close second with 16.5 percent of the total votes is the "Doorbell Chud," a nickname given to a man named Jason Nichols who was caught on a Ring doorbell camera breaking into someone's home.
There are many things that make this viral video strange and memorable. In the video, Nichols calls himself Harry Dresden, the protagonist of the fantasy series The Dresden Files. He screams, yells that he wants to get to the homeowner's daughter, and at one point rings a bell attached to a chain, a moment that has become the subject of many edits and memes ("Gem Alarm!").
Topping that all off is Nichols' appearance, because he looks a whole lot like the "Chudjak" meme (and Milhouse), from the glasses to the hair to the general look of his face. Nichols quickly earned the nickname "Doorbell Chud" as the video spread in April, also drawing comparisons to stereotypical Discord and Reddit mods.
Family Guy Running Down Stairs Scene
In third place, with about 8 percent of the total votes, is the "Family Guy Running Down Stairs" scene, a series of memes about running away from something that uses a clip of the Griffin family very seriously running down to the basement.
The scene comes from the 2020 episode "Movin' In," and first became the subject of stylized edits on TikTok at the beginning of April. Later in the month, the clip spread to X and began inspiring memes about running away from things that should probably be run towards.
For example, a viral post criticizing the newest Mario Kart game that reads, "There's good writing and game design upstairs," with the Griffin family representing Mario Kart World's game devs running downstairs.
These memes proved popular throughout April on TikTok, Reels and X, adding yet another meme to the Family Guy meme format pile.

Invincible Wobbly Animation / Tracksuit Mark
In fourth place with 6 percent of the total votes is the "Invincible Wobbly Animations" and "Tracksuit Mark" GIF, two related Invincible memes that took over Instagram Reels and TikTok in April.
Memes about so-called "Invincible wobbly animations" have been going around for a while now, but they made a big comeback last month, hitting an all-time peak in interest.
The term refers to tweening animations of Invincible characters that often make them look wobbly. This is a big thing among the fandom, resulting in parodies of the animations and jokes about them filling up social media feeds everywhere.
Then there's Tracksuit Mark, an offshoot of the wobbly animation memes. These memes are based on a wobbly animation of Invincible War variant Tracksuit Mark screaming and obviously gooning just off-frame. This animation spread far and wide throughout April along with a host of absurd Invincible memes, such as the "And We Run" format.

Monster House Reginald Skulinski Eating
Finally, with 4.2 percent of the votes is the Monster House meme, "Reginald Skulinski Eating."
This meme has been slowly growing for a while, but hit its stride on X / Twitter in April. The meme is based on a scene from Monster House in which the character Reginald "Skull" Skulinski, after giving the protagonists some crucial information on taking down the Monster House, steals a snack from one of the kids and quickly eats it while staring at them.
In April, a single frame of Reginald in mid-bite, his stare at its deepest point, became a prevalent reaction image for portraying emotions like concern, disappointment and dread. It's a simple meme, but its popularity was undeniable throughout April, making it one of the hardest memes of the past month to escape.
And now for some of the memes that didn't quite make the top five.
In sixth, we had the return of the "Narwhals Song" with 4 percent of the votes, followed by the "Sonion" meme in seventh, the "Arby's Meat Mountain" and "Rod Wave Takeover" in eighth, "Dictator Mbappe" in ninth and the "Hound Dog Remix" in 10th with 3.4 percent of the total votes.
These were followed by the "Rick and Morty dance," the "Blue Shirt Kid getting sturdy," the "Squidward 'Friend' Memes" and "Conquest Behind Oliver," with "Klay Thompson's Eggs After 11 edits" coming in at number 15.
Below that included memes like the "TikTok Farlands," "7×7=49," and the "Olaf animatronic's malfunction."
Thank you for voting, and see you next month!
