About

/k/ is 4chan's weapons board. Although guns are the primary topic, military and other weapons threads are permitted. Users of this board are often referred as "/k/ommandos", in a similar vein to /b/'s "/b/ tards" or /a/'s "/a/nons".

History

/k/ was first added to 4chan on September 8, 2004, alongside two other boards: /o/ (Auto), and /sm/ (Shota/Male).

Board Culture

Board culture of /k/ revolves around gun or military humor and taking pride in one's raifu (rifle waifu). Making fun of anti-gun people ("no-funz") and liberals ("soccermoms") is a standard practice to occur as well. /k/ is also known for it's humor ("/k/ humor"), which relates to military and gun jokes. "/k/ humor" threads are sometimes made on /k/, similarly to You Laugh, You Lose threads in /b/.

Tacticool

While not originating in /k/, the term tacticool is widely used across the board. It often refers to guns with unnecessary and redundant attachments.

/k/, a magical place

"/k/, a magical place" is a phrase commonly associated with /k/ humor. It is edited onto various, related images and stories that erupt on the board. It is also a common response to said images and stories. Banners of the board sometimes contain this phrase.

Zergface

Zergface is an exploitable image of the protagonist Xu San-duo from the war drama series Soldiers Sortie (士兵突击). It can be considered the pseudo-mascot for the board and it sometimes acts as a board specific Costanza.jpg. as well as a general reaction image.

/k/ube | Murder Cube

The /k/ube (alternatively referred as Murder Cube) is a cubical sculpture covered with various types of firearms, ammunition, and other weaponry-related items. It resides in the Prince of Whales Armory Museum located in Edmonton, Canada. In /k/, a joke religion has been formed around it, complete with praises such as "Glory be to the Murder Cube". It is often called the "Mecca of /k/". [4]

Innawoods

Innawoods describes anything related to the forest, such as hunting, camping and hiking. "Innawoods" stories can sometimes include encounters with cryptids such as "skinwalkers". It also refers to Innawoods.net[5], a browser program that allows you to customize a combat loadout, including guns, accessories, inventory, etc. Threads often use innawoods as a way to simulate loadouts addressing different scenarios, from a zombie apocalypse to a hunting trip.
