Tattoos are rather controversial. Some people love them, and some people absolutely can't stand them. But no matter where you stand in the age-old debate, we can all agree on one thing — the following tattoos were terrible ideas. Unfortunately, most of them are so bad that these people will struggle to find an artist willing to take on the daunting task of covering these, and interestingly enough, many of these people don't particularly regret getting these, either. The rest of us regret looking at them, though.

Whether it's the fault of a bad artist or a bad concept, these tattoo recipients probably should have thought this through a little more. Sometimes they're DIYed, sometimes they're done at the county fair, and in one case, a guy appears to have tattooed his own shoulder (or attempted to tattoo it, really). It's impressive how bad they can be, and a bit sad that these people now have to go about their lives in public with these for years to come. Here are some tattoos to remind you to do your research before the next time you get inked.
