Stock photographs are the images that are created specifically for commercial use and licensing. They're photos of general scenarios, uninteresting tasks and people that are appropriate to use for ads, presentations and whatever else they're needed for. Or that's usually what they are. Since there are so many stock photos out there, they can get pretty strange. Some people must be trying to portray some pretty odd scenarios and feelings, because the kinds of photos on Reddit's /r/wt*stockphotos are baffling.

It's hard to imagine in what case any of these photos could be used for, unless for the exact situation they are showing, but even that would be pretty unusual, especially for some of them. Hopefully someone somewhere can find a use for these photos and all of the other bizarre ones out there, otherwise the genius and skill behind them would go to waste.
