The internet went into a frenzy after former President Donald Trump made a surprise appearance at Philadelphia's "Sneaker Con" last Saturday to announce his golden high top trainers.

Trump Sneakers is one of Trump's branded products including shoes, aftershave and perfume. The trainers' reveal caught online attention due to being announced a day after the former President was fined $355 million for fraudulently inflating the values of his properties.

Here’s what we know about Trump's latest fashion merchandise.

What Is The 'Trump Sneakers'?

The Trump Sneakers is a bright gold high-top trainer, branded as "Never Surrender High-Tops," engraved with a large “T” on the side and the United States flag stitched around the collar (shown below). The sneakers were unveiled by former President Donald Trump at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia last Saturday, “I’ve wanted to do this a long time,” the former US president said during the event.

In less than 24 hours after the merch was revealed, the $399 sneakers were listed as sold out on the website called GetTrumpSneakers.com.

Are 'Trump Sneakers' Financing Donald Trump's Presidential Campaign?

According to Trump Sneakers' website, the product is not “designed, manufactured, distributed or sold” by Trump or his organization but rather by a company identified as 45Footwear, LLC, which uses Trump’s name and likeness under a license agreement. The website also claims the merchandise is not connected to Donald Trump's presidential campaign and is not political.

What Are Some 'Trump Sneakers' Meme Examples?

Like it or not, Trump is a meme factory for his polemic quotes, actions and, most recently, merchandise. So it was no surprise that his extravagant golden sneakers were quickly the center of photoshop edits, memes and jokes on social media. Netizens are using their creativity to portray "Trump Sneakers" in the most funny and absurd designs possible while others are mocking people who helped the product being sold out in less than 24 hours. Here are some of the funniest examples:
