How Did ‘Pints, Chit Chat And Good People’ Become A Meme?
A combination of factors was decisive to make this video split the internet: Everyone is dressed in vintage clothes, the color palette matching the background, and an almost perfect capture of "laughs and drinks" with friends, all of them staying precisely in frame, at the same time pretending the camera was never there from the start.
In the days following the video's upload, the factors mentioned above were humorously ridiculed by other users on TikTok, who labeled it as cringe via content that parodied it. For instance, an early viral example was a stitch posted by TikToker @theboski on October 27th, 2023, which received roughly 1.2 million plays and 129,100 likes in nine days (shown below, left). On October 30th, TikToker @fishermanernie posted a duet with a similar sentiment, gaining roughly 2.6 million plays and 313,900 likes in six days (shown below, right).

How Did The TikToker Responded To The Memes?
TikToker @maxlepagekeefe told The Lab tabloid the context behind the video, saying that he loves the pub and likes to dress as seen in the video, saying, "Just combine the two with a pint and it’s all right."
The TikToker also mentioned the critiques of the way he and his friends “behaved” for the camera, pretending to talk and laugh. Max said one of his friends was already filming and he decided to record the moment as well, “You feel it’s there for maybe the first 30 seconds…I was filming for about 10 minutes altogether. Then I just edited it down.”
