This is it everyone, the end of Spooktober is here. After this week, it will be a grudge match between Mariah Carey and Black Friday for control of the internet until New Year's. For this occasion, we have four glorious memes to shine a spotlight on over the past weekend. We have the IRL-centric Absolutely Losing It Over This Picture Of My Brother With His Baby, the made-for-TV Water Monke, the Minecraftian Hey, Shitass, and lastly, a throwback to a simpler time with Cover Yourself in Oil.

Absolutely Losing It Over This Picture Of My Brother With His Baby is about a viral tweet and image depicting a man holding his baby up to a Walmart security camera. The meme quickly got picked up and transformed into putting various characters in the place of the man and his baby, most notably video game characters or others from pop culture.

This format isn't entirely versatile, as it is restricted to just one character holding up another, but it is very reminiscent of Don't Talk To Me Or My Son Ever Again, which means there is a lot of potential for it to stick around a while.

Water Monke / Searching For The Sea Banana

Water Monke/Searching For The Sea Banana is a short-form meme video that uses a clip from the Donkey Kong Country commercial from 2003. In it, a CGI monkey is shown swimming underwater.

This has led to memes being made in a similar vein to Shark Pog, as they both have similar setups. Though entirely unlikely to continue as a large meme mainstay, the fact that a short clip from a 2003 commercial can even be a meme at all still shows how completely unexpected this whole thing is. Let us hope that Water Monke finds his banana soon.

Hey, Shitass

Hey, Shitass is a small series of quick videos revolving around a Minecraft character named Shitass. This meme was first found on TikTok and from there it quickly expanded as people began to show this "shitass" character the various skills they know in-game.

This meme is completely used in video form, which is good, as it shows a healthy amount of variety for both meme creators and websites in general. Videos take longer to get a good setup for and there can be problems during the execution, so a popular meme that is entirely composed of videos shows a strong, healthy creator pool.

Cover Yourself in Oil

Cover Yourself in Oil is a 2012 troll science throwback living in the modern time. The meme originated on 9GAG, which many would find an unusual place for a revival of troll science, and yet, here it is.

The joke is that oil always floats on top of water, which is what makes grease fires so dangerous, and so by covering yourself in oil you should be able to float above water, including rain. Being a classic four-panel troll comic, new memes can be made by replacing various panels, as seen in some of the examples. Hopefully, this is not a quick flash in the pan, but a harbinger to something much more to come.
