In 2018, everyone grew afraid to ask what Ligma was after countless social media users were tricked into having "ligma balls" yelled at their faces. In 2019, we all became equally afraid to ask who Joe is after falling into the classic "Joe Mama" trap.

In the same way, people are increasingly afraid to ask about Saw Con, a fictional saw conference used as an excuse to say "saw con deez nuts" to anyone foolish enough to fall into the trap.

If you want to do a little trolling with Saw Con, here's a full explanation of what it is and how you can properly use it.

Where Does "Saw Con" Come From?

Although the joke likely existed before 2018, the earliest known use of the term "Saw Con" online is from a comment posted to Twitter in June that year. The comment was made in response to a screenshot that shows someone getting thwarted by the Ligma joke.

The commenter writes, "Good think he didn't ask you about SAWCON," assumedly hoping that someone will come along and ask, "what's saw con?" so he can respond, "saw con deez nuts."

"Saw Con" sounds something like "suck on," just like how "ligma" sounds kind of like "lick my." Saw Con is one of the more popular examples of these types of word pranks, where a victim is tricked into asking more about the bizarre-sounding phrase or word only to be epically bamboozled with the punchline, "Saw Con deez nuts." It's simple and childish, but when it works, oh boy does it work.

How Is Saw Con Used In Memes?

Saw Con is used in memes and in online discourse as a prank on unsuspecting users. It's most often used in comment sections and can be whipped out just about anywhere at any time.

No matter what's being discussed, if you can fit "Saw Con" into the mix, there's always a chance someone will ask about it and give you the opportunity to strike with a "Saw Con deez nuts."

A lot of the time, people refer to Saw Con as if it's a conference about saws. Other times they refer to it as a conference about the Saw film franchise. Whichever way you want to go, all you need to do to meme with Saw Con is work it into an online conversation in a way that inspires questions and hope for the best.

You also don't necessarily need to use "deez nuts" as the punchline. There are plenty of things you could ask someone to "saw con," so try and get creative with it!
