Disturbing allegations about the massively popular YouTube beauty guru James Charles are going viral again thanks to a new billboard in L.A.

The billboard was paid for by Ethan Klein, the host of one of YouTube's top podcasts, the H3 Podcast, it was inspired by Klein's belief that Charles hasn't been held properly accountable for his alleged actions.

Now, Klein is claiming that the billboard was vandalized. So, what's the full story behind the James Charles billboard? Here's what you need to know.

What Is The James Charles Billboard?

At the end of January, the H3 Podcast held a competition where viewers were encouraged to submit designs for a billboard that draws attention to a series of allegations against James Charles. The winning design would go up on a real billboard in Los Angeles, California.

For those who don't know, James Charles has been accused of inappropriately messaging minors multiple times. According to one 2021 BBC article, Charles admitted to accidentally texting 16-year-old boys inappropriately.

The winning billboard was inspired by Kendrick Lamar's song "Not Like Us," in which Lamar makes comparable allegations about rapper Drake

Sure enough, on Friday, February 13th, the billboard was put up in Los Angeles. Photos of it quickly spread online, gaining tens of thousands of upvotes and likes and millions of views on sites like Reddit, TikTok and X / Twitter.

How Is Social Media Reacting To The James Charles Billboard?

In the days after it was posted, photos of the James Charles billboard spread across social media, going viral on the /r/PopCultureChat subreddit, Hollywood Fix's TikTok page, the Kendrick Lamar subreddit and more.

Some people were shocked to learn that Klein paid for the billboard and offered him kudos. A meme that replaces Kendrick Lamar's face with Klein's even started spreading on TikTok.

One of Charles' alleged victims, Ethan Rhett, even posted a video thanking Klein for paying for the billboard. Rhett alleged in December 2025 that Charles made advances on him when he was only 14 years old.

Only days after the billboard was put up, it mysteriously went missing. According to Klein, the billboard was vandalized, but the company is working on getting it put back up. It is unclear who vandalized the billboard.
