About

High School Kid Punches ICE Supporter or the "Okay" Punch Kid, also known as the Brown Hoodie Kid, is a viral video of a high school student punching another student, Danny Spud, for holding up a sign supporting the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during an anti-ICE protest at the school. In the video, the kid announces that he's going to punch Spud, Spud tells him that he's going to get in trouble if he does, and the kid says, "Okay," then throws the punch.

Spud posted the video on X / Twitter on February 12th, 2026, claiming he was the only one holding up a sign reading "I love ICE," writing, "Instead of allowing me to express my opinion, I was assaulted -- Just for standing up for law enforcement. What is happening to America?" The video went viral over the following days, inspiring support and criticism towards both Spud and the puncher. An image of the kid winding up to punch Spud went viral as the subject of memes. The puncher in the video became known as the "Brown Hoodie Kid" in some corners of the internet.

Origin

On February 12th, 2026, X[1] user @dannyspud_, aka Danny Spud, posted a video taken at Lake Zurich High School in Illinois, where he attends as a student.

In the video, Spud is holding up a sign that reads "I love ICE" while at the school's anti-ICE protest. He is confronted by another student, who says, "Yeah I am going to punch you in the face." Spud replies, "You're gonna get in trouble for that." The student says, "Okay," then winds up and punches Spud in the face. The student is held back by security and Spud says, "Chill out, bro. I stand for my beliefs. I am going to peacefully stand here and support my beliefs." The student yells back, "You can peacefully go fuck yourself." Spud calls him out for further violating school code by swearing.

The video gained over 16 million views and 82,000 likes in four days. Additionally, the post is captioned:

"Today, students at my high school in Chicago held an Anti-ICE protest. I was the only one that decided to hold a sign that said ‘I Love ICE’. Instead of allowing me to express my opinion, I was assaulted -- Just for standing up for law enforcement. What is happening to America?"
