1479-1494

Pezcado has secured a narrow victory against Tunis and Sus, forcing the latter to accept a white peace and forcing the former to return the lands that they took.

The Templar have finished their conquest of Brittany, leaving only a single province to the old Breton kingdom.

Ambrosia has finally decided to put their old rival into the grave and declares war in 1479 against Venice.

At the same time, Kurdistan yet again marches off to war against Saruhan. Will they actually annex them this time? Probably not, but we can hope.

Also in 1479 (a very busy year for generals) the Knights Templar march upon France to kill them off for good.

In 1480, Latice goes to war to take Cyprus. After several extremely costly landing attempts, Latice finally managed to occupy and conquer the island, but not without great cost. Hefty manpower losses are incurred, Latice having thrown everything they had upon the heavily fortified island nation's beaches.

Barcelona attempts to relive its glory days by participating in a war at the behest of their new Burgundian allies. As if cursed by Barcelona's presence, the war quickly turns for the worst.

1482, the victorious Ambrosians have taken Verona from Venice and Urbino from the Pope, as well as forcing Venice to release most of their Greek territories as independent kingdoms.

The Great Northern War, which is no longer numbered due to frequency, has kicked off once again as Novgorod attempts to conquer Finland and Livonia attempts to conquer Novgorod. Altogether the war is Novgorod, Ryazan and their puppet Muscowy, Zion, and Yaroslavl versus Finland, Livonian Order, Teutonic Order, Sweden, Norway, and Frittland. Most of the fighting occurs in Zion.

In 1483, Latice invaded Hejaz. Despite Latice's friendly overtures, the Hejaz instead decided to declare Latice as a rival, so they had to go.

Hueynation becomes the first European nation to leave Europe, settling a colony in the Cape Verde isles off the west coast of Africa.

Naples has fought Aragon in an independence war, winning some territory and forcing Sardinia to gain its independence, but also makes the odd choice of remaining in a union under Aragon. Now, in 1484, they are at it again, this time drawing in support from many nations including Pezcado.

1486, the Great Northern War takes another (probably short lived) ceasefire, Finland once again taking the lion's share of the prize, no doubt inspiring envy among their Norse brethren.

In 1487 the Kurds take advantage of the fact that all of Hungary's allies are busy fighting Naples or Aragon, and declares war. Bohemia and Savoy send reinforcing armies, and Hungary is easily subdued in the early years of the war.

Not one to spoil an opportunity, the Lancasters do the same as the Kurds and declare upon Pezcado while the Pezs are largely distracted fighting in Italy.

Another war in Scandinavia starts in 1488, this time on the western side of the Baltic. Sweden invades Norway, and neither manage to call in any allies, despite having plenty of them. The Swedes win quickly, removing Norway from the map.

Also in 1488, the Laticians finish their war with Hejaz, expanding south towards the holy cities.

1489, the Pezs have found an ally in Fezzan and somehow cast back the Lancastrian invasion. They win a series of unlikely battles, marching towards the Castillian capital of Toledo.

The war in the north switches back into Finland in 1490 as Sapmi and Sweden try to knock Finland down a few pegs. A massive rebellion in the south succeeds in destroying the Livonian army as well. There can be no peace in Finland or Karelia.

In 1491 the Amazons descend like vultures upon Hungary, just as the Kurds succeed in wiping out the Hungarian army.

In 1492 there is yet again peace in the north, Finland once again relegated to a tiny corner of its homeland. Revolts continue to plague the Sword Brothers, and Sapmi is on a rapid rise to power.

The Lancastrian invasion of Pezcado ends in 1492 with a treaty signing over Almeria to the Brits. Although Pezcado was winning the war, a timely joint invasion by Sus and Tunis has drawn their attention away from Iberia, forcing them to abandon their victories to defend their African homeland.

Meanwhile, Camarilla and Brandenburg go to war with the Teutonic Order to curb the latter's aggressive expansion.

Kurdistan finally completes its conquest in 1493, annexing a huge portion of the Hungarian kingdom.

The Lancasters go to war with Picardie to claim Calais in 1494, although they fail to land any troops on the continent, leading to an enemy occupation of Castile.

Northern Italy breaks out into war in the same year as Switzerland, backed up by their ally Ambrosia, goes to war with Savoy, who is supported by Kurdistan.

The Amazons end their war with Hungary as well. Hungary might as well not even be on the map any more.

Hueynation continues its colonial adventure, dropping a settlement on Rio de Janeiro.

Europe in 1494. Sweden has just gone to war with Sapmi, continuing the long tradition of littering the northern reaches with frozen corpses. The Lancasters are losing their war with Picardie, despite occupying Calais, because their foolish generals refuse to reinforce Castile. Pezcado has succeeded in holding off Tunis, but is having difficulties fighting Sus, which continues to evade a direct fight, instead skirting around the countryside looting provinces. The Camarillan war against the Teutons went nowhere, and ended in a stalemate.

Allies of player nations. Lancashire and Ambrosia have allied, and Khuzait has forged a friendship with the Teutons. Zion has also finally made some friends, although not very powerful ones. Other than this, however, not much has changed in diplomacy.

- Explore and try to colonize lands outside of Europe.

-Make alliance with Sampi.

- Invade Finland to annex it.

- Increase influence on both Nordic countries and neighboring ones that are none Nordics.

-Get trade going with my southern neighbors if possible, if not just increase trading with the Nordic countries or even do both.

- Whatever small pieces of the former Norway is invaded to be annexed.

- Strengthen national borders.

Latice

- Push into North Africa and the Hejaz.
- Influence Anatolian neighbours.
- Send colonies to lands outside of the Old World.
- Build up the army.

Just so you know, Latice does not have the colonial range to reach the Americas; this is only possible for nations touching the Atlantic ocean. If you decide to establish a colonial administration, you will be settling islands in the Indian Ocean, South Africa and (eventually) the Pacific.

Aurea Ambrosia:
- For the second idea group, choose trade to get the money flowing.
- After the war with Savoy, let the country recover, and once again declare war on Venice. Re-put claims on neighboring rivals.
- Attempt to ally Amazon, or any powerful Kurdistan rival, honestly.

1494-1513

In 1495, Pezcado completes its war, taking a small piece of territory from Sus.

The Italian war ends in stalemate after many bloody battles in the Alps lead to no gains on either side.

1496, Khuzait begins marching into Asia by invading tiny Nogai. The Timurids begin to experience gradually increasing difficulties, giving Khuzait an opportunity for further eastward expansion.

Meanwhile, Frittland bullies Naotho out of Iceland and the North Sea islands.

And Camarilla invades Finland.

In 1497, the Lancasters experience a heretic uprising in the midst of the Picardian invasion of Castile. Ironically, the heretics help Castile in defeating the invaders, opening the way for the Brits to send in a reinforcing army to destroy the heretics as well as the Picardians.

Sweden completes the war with Sapmi, annexing it in whole.

And Frittland conquers Iceland, exiling Naotho to Greenland.

Latice and Najd invade Hejaz again in 1499, and shortly after concluding that war Medri Bahri does the same, abandoning their homeland to the rebels as they make an effort to conquer Arabia.

A major rebellion along the Livonian-Novgorodian border in 1499 leads to the creation of a new state: Karelia.

The Lancasters finish their war in 1500, finally taking Calais. In the same year, the Templar executed a blitz across Bourbonnais, quickly capturing most of southern France for themselves.

Ambrosia declares upon Venice again in 1500, and although they win handily, they elect not to take any lands for themselves.

War in the north breaks out again in 1501 as Livonia invades Sweden. Even with help from Camarilla and Frittland, Sweden is unable to cast back the invading armies of Teutons and Livonians. Zion declares war upon Livonia, turning the tide of the war and transforming the entirety of Finland into a three way war zone once again.

In 1504, Pezcado is invaded again by Hueynation. Sus and Tunis smell the blood and pounce as well, finally finding success against the Pezs.

At the same time, Latice goes to war against Pezcado's ally, Fezzan.

The war in the north comes to another shaky peace in 1507. Finland has regained more of its homeland from Livonia, and Sweden has taken another province. During the war, before Zion joined and turned it into a Swedish victory, a major rebellion in Sweden led to defection of several provinces to Karelia.

Lancashire has established colonies in West Africa.

1805, war has broken out over Barcelona once again. Dauphine, supported by their Templar allies, has gone to war to conquer Barcelona, which is still allied with Lancashire.

In 1509 Khuzait declares war upon the Timurids, bringing Latice along with them. Latice does most of the fighting against the Timurids while Khuzait fights a smaller war against Kazan on the other side of the Caspian Sea.

In 1511, Kurdistan declares upon the Ottomans. They rapidly win an easy victory.

Both Kurdistan and Khuzait finish their respective wars in 1512, within a week of one another. Nice timing, guys.

Camarilla goes to war with Finland once more in 1512. As a wealthy nation with a large army, Camarilla is much more powerful than the many former owners of Finland. Does this mean that The Great Northern War will come to a permanent end soon? One can only hope.

Meanwhile, Ryazan allies with Zion and, believing themselves to be now invincible, declare war upon Khuzait. Although Zion does succeed in destroying the Teutonic armies (with Muscovite help) nobody pays attention to the eastern front and Khuzait is able to completely overtake Ryazan without contest, annexing the tiny state and freeing Muscovy from their union.

Europe in 1513. The war in Pezcado has ended, Sus retaking its old lands and Tunis conquering much of Algeria. Hueynation has butchered what remains, splitting Pezcado into three pieces. Barcelona has been almost entirely annexed, now only controlling the province that is their namesake and the Balearic Islands; the Lancasters opted not to send a single soldier onto the continent to fight on their ally's behalf.

Player alliances. Camarilla and Frittland are making aggressive motions towards Sweden, which now has no allies left. The alliance between Camarilla and Frittland is also dissolving, although much more slowly. Pezcado once again finds itself without friends.

A new map, showing negative relationships. There's a lot of hate going around, as usual in Europe.

If you decide to establish a colonial administration, you will be settling islands in the Indian Ocean, South Africa and (eventually) the Pacific.

Well that's what I meant by outside the Old World, but I'll specify from now on.

Latice

- Push further into North Africa.
- Invade Naples if possible.
- Send colonies to South Africa and the Indian Ocean.

1513-1533

In 1513, the Kurds declare war on Hungary again, dragging along Hungary's ally, Austria.

In 1515, Camarilla and the Templar have established their first colonies in West Africa and Brazil, respectively.

Kurdistan makes peace in 1515 and their true target comes into view; most of the lands taken are from Austria, including their capital, Vienna.

In 1516 Ambrosia goes to war against Venice…

…and Frittland declares upon Sweden.

In 1517 the Amazons yet again embed their talons in a war-weary Hungary.

Karelia takes advantage of Sweden's crushing defeat at the hands of Frittland, and goes to war as well, hoping to be the next Great Northern Empire.

Muscovy invades Novgorod.

This episode of the War in the North ends in under a year, with Karelia being the new nation to have its name plastered across Lapland.

Camarilla, meanwhile, pulls a cheeky annex on Naotho.

It doesn't take long for war to break out again. In 1518 Karelia conquers the last pieces of Novgorod and Camarilla promptly declares war upon Karelia.

The Amazons finish off their conquest of Hungary in 1519, taking all but a small enclave in the midst of their new territories.

Also in 1519, Karelia crumbles to the might of Camarilla, spelling the first of many dooms for the new northern empire contender.

In 1520 Najd goes to war with Oman, and Latice sends along an army to help.

Muscovy couldn't sustain its good luck; after conquering Novgorod they very quickly crumble to a civil war.

In 1522 Frittland grabs even more land away from Karelia.

Ambrosia finally completes their war with Venice in 1522, which somehow involved Savoy as well. They retake Novara and Pisa, and even gain the province of Treviso and the great city of Venice itself.

Yaroslavl somehow finds itself without allies or an overlord, and so Khuzait immediately invades the province.

In 1522 Camarilla and their new ally, Amazon, go to war against Zion, who Camarilla opted to abandon a few years prior.

The Protestant reformation begins in 1522, with the Teutonic Order and Lancashire becoming the first big nations to break away from the Catholic Church.

In 1525 the Teutonic Order declares war upon Zion, bringing along their Khuzatian allies to help. Zion now finds itself at war with all of its neighbors besides broken Muscovy and tiny Chernigov.

The war does not last much longer after this. In 1526 the powers that be split up Zion's lands in the first of what is sure to be two partitions. The Jewish state is practically dead now.

The Timurids have collapsed entirely, Persia splitting off on its own while several other nations periodically invade to plunder its borders for lands and wealth.

In 1527 the Templar go to war with Armagnac, which is no longer supported by Lancashire and therefor vulnerable to invasion.

At the same time, Kurdistan invades Saruhan, Ramazan, and Ottomans simultaneously, annexing all three in short order.

Pezcado is invaded once again from multiple directions.

Latice takes advantage of the fact that all Tunisian armies are in Pezcado and in 1528 declares war to claim the whole of Libya.

The Templar finish their war in 1530, annexing almost the whole of Armagnac and much of Dauphine as well. Barcelona seizes the day by immediately declaring upon Amagnac at the conclusion of the Templar war.

Kazan is invaded by Khuzait in 1531 and is quickly overrun.

1532, Wallachia declares war upon Zaporozhie. This brings in their allies, Kurdistan and Amazon, who do almost all of the fighting during the war.

Muscovy just can't get a break. In 1532, the Livonian order declares war, bringing along their Teutonic friends. Also seen here is a simultaneous invasion of Karelia by Camarilla.

Barcelona completes its reconquest in 1533, reclaiming most of its Catalan motherland.

Europe and the Near East in 1533. Amazon and Kurdistan are still fighting it out at the behest of Wallachia and Zaporozhie. Latice has annexed Libya, and Pezcado has been cut down even further, but still clings to life. The Timurids are hit by a second wave of rebellions, spelling ultimate doom for the old horde. Naples has finally broken free of Aragon, although that does not seem to have stopped the two old friends from tag-teaming the Papal State.

Religious map. For some reason, Lancashire has converted back to Catholic in the midst of its Protestant conversion. Nordic missionaries have succeeded in converting most of Finland.

Alliances of player nations. Camarilla abandoned Zion in favor of staying friends with Frittland, leading to Zion's downfall. Lancashire has begun integrating Castile.

Hostile relations. Oddly enough, despite being at war presently, Kurdistan and Amazon don't hate each other all that much.

Last edited Aug 02, 2016 at 11:15PM EDT

Well then it seems that the great nation of Pezcado isn't doing so well. if possible I would want to colonize the new world, and screw my old country

Aurea Ambrosia:
- Break alliance with Aragon and Austria, put claims over remaining Venetian territories and renew the Itallian ones. Also claim some Austrian land, when the relations deteriorate.
- Try to forge an alliance with Lattice, and Teutonic Order. If any of those fail, then next in combination would be Carmarilla and Amazon (if not eaten by Kurdistan).
- Convert to Protestant.
- Quantity for the third national idea.

Last edited Jul 28, 2016 at 08:35AM EDT

Not sure if it's too late to make commands, but if it isn't:

Latice
- Invade the Italian peninsula.
- Push into North Africa some more.
- Ally with Ambrosia.

1533-1560

1533, the Teutonic Order reforms into the Kingdom of Prussia.

In 1534 Khuzait invades Nizhny Novgorod, a short-lived splinter state that broke away from Muscowy. Shortly after annexing the tiny principality, Khuzait began the process of westernization, overhauling the entire nation to be up to par with western European standards.

Latice has established a colony on a remote island in the Indian Ocean. In the coming decades they will very slowly expand east, towards Australia and Indonesia.

In '34 Camarilla invades Muscovy, taking a modest piece of land for themselves. This would prove to be a mistake, however, as it triggered a large wave of rebels that would plague Camarilla for almost thirty years.

In 1536 Wallachia ends its war with Zaporozhie, choosing to give a large chunk of Amazonian Carpathia to Kurdistan, rather than annex any lands for themselves. Amazon experiences a large uprising of peasants and separatists in the wake of the war and must borrow heavily to rebuild its armies to combat this threat to stability.

Ambrosia has gone to war with Aragon in 1540…

…and no more than two months later they are called to war against the Templar to help their Lancastrian allies seize land from Hueynation. The war was poorly thought out beforehand, and the Lancasters prove inept at fighting on the continent, leaving Ambrosia to be destroyed by Templar and Huey armies.

Muscowy is invaded by Khuzait in 1541. Despite the fact that they are westernizing and experiencing large-scale rebellions, Khuzait can still find the time to go on the occasional conquering spree.

The Lancastrian conquest of Hueynation is turned on its head, eventually resulting in Hueynation annexing large portions of Castile. Ambrosia, despite having its army annihilated in the conflict, managed to seize a few provinces for themselves from Savoy and Aragon.

Meanwhile, in North America, Naotho is busy conquering natives.

In 1547 Sus has gone to war with Pezcado once again, refusing to rest until the Zoroastrian state is removed from existence.

Also in 1547, Savoy decided to make the brazen decision to invade Switzerland, calling in half a dozen Holy Roman Princedoms to defend the Swiss, which joined forces and promptly marched towards Constantinople. Kurdistan was soundly defeated by the German armies, which forced the Kurds to bow out of the war and abandon Savoy as an ally after the enemy destroyed almost all of the Kurdish armies.

At perhaps the worst possible time, in 1548 Shirvan declares war upon Qara Qoyunlu; as they had been warned by Khuzait not to make war, this naturally called Khuzait into the conflict. The result was a devastating defeat at the hands of combined Shirvan and Persian armies, which marched as far as Moscow before returning home. Although Khuzait lost no lands during the war, the defeat has crippled their westernization progress and allowed dozens of new rebel armies to rise up.

After suppressing the uprising, Amazon attempts to recuperate their losses by conquering Nitra.

In 1549, both Barcelona and Latice declare upon Tunis. Vastly outnumbered and, at this point, facing superior European technology, the Tunisians crumble.

By 1553 Tunis is only a shadow of what it used to be, not even controlling the city that is its namesake.

In 1553 Prussia goes to war with Amazon. Khuzait is called into the war to help, but provides no reinforcing armies as all of their forces are tied up in constant rebel suppression. This matters not, as Prussia is able to handle both Amazon and Camarilla on their own, although they also have Livonian help to that end and Camarilla is partly distracted fighting a large rebellion in Russia.

Barcelona's luck runs out quickly. In 1555, the Templar declare war as the Queen of Barcelona has been excommunicated and the Templar really, really don't like that.

1557, Prussia ends the war on Amazon, seizing a modest territorial concession.

Despite aid from the Lancasters, Barcelona has come under complete occupation by the enemy.

Naples, meanwhile, has annexed their former overlord, exiling Aragon to the tiny island province of Malta.

The war does not stop in Spain or Africa. To show the Lancasters what a real army looks like, the Templar actually land on the British isle itself.

This convinces Lancashire to give up the fight, and they finally surrender, turning over Calais and Navarra to the victorious Templar-Huey alliance. Barcelona, despite being the de jure target of the war, loses very little of note.

Europe in 1560 is mostly at peace. There are a few major rebellions ongoing, the largest of which is in Camarilite Novgorod. Khuzait has finally completed westernization, which means that their tech growth from this point forward will be hastened significantly. Savoy has completely fallen apart, partitioned recently between Ambrosia and Dauphine. Zion has also experienced another partition between Camarilla and Khuzait. Wallachia has conquered most of Zaporozhie, although they are experiencing huge Crimean revolts which they have, as of yet, failed to muster a large enough force to deal with. Worth noting also is the fact that Sus has formed Morocco.

Alliances. I am adding Prussia to the roster of relations that I keep track of due to their rising importance, equal to our custom nations at this point.

The hate map. Speaks for itself.

Colonies in South America. Camarilla holds a significant stretch of coastline now, stretching from the Caribbean towards Brazil. Lancashire has taken several of the valuable Carribean islands, and Pezcado has settled in the Bahamas and the Turks islands. The Templar have established an outpost in Texas.

Because it was requested by Crow (and many, many times by Triangle) I am going to list out all of the idea groups adopted by all of the nations on our roster. Some of you have fewer idea groups than others; this is because you are behind in technology. Feel free to change the idea groups that the ai picked for you. They will be swapped out with whatever group you want at no penalty. Read more on idea groups here.

Here's a few other stats for you.

Countries sorted by total land development

Countries sorted by total income

Largest armies

Largest force limits

The largest armies tally can fluctuate wildly depending upon whether or not a nation is at war or having financial problems. The Force limits list is a more accurate measure of total military capacity, since it is always the same whether or not your army happens to be small at the time. A "force limit" is the maximum size army that your nation can support without incurring extra costs.

mfw I dont pay attention for a few days and shit gets fucked

Im sick of Lancaster's misguided bullshit – I leave for just a couple days and the AI has fucked itself in the arse.
Also why the fuck did they covert back? Is my leader allergic to prestige and stability?

Orders for The Kingdom of Greater Lancashire:

Seek an alliance with Camarilla, if they'll have me (we have mutual rivals, it makes sense)
Focus more on naval force – i want my naval force limit maxed out and a shitton of heavy ships to fuck black France and pink Spain up.
Idea choices are godawful: If possible make sure I get diplomatic and Quality ideas

>Prussia forming this early
HRE is kill

Aurea Ambrosia:
- When Administrative Tech 14 kicks in, adopt Influence idea group.
- Try to ally Prussia, again.
- Improve relations and ally Khuzait.
- Renew the claims on the Italian peninsula and Austria, and declare war on Naples.
- Later declare war on Savoy if it doesn't have powerful allies.
- If the religious Leagues are formed, join the Protestant one. (Especially if Prussia is on that side as an ally)

- put claims on amazon, latice and kamaran
- improve relations with prussia, royal marriage if possible
- next idea group should be humanist
- try to vasallize croatia, if not possible just put claims on it
- ally persia

1560-1577

1560, the Templar become involved in a war with Lorraine to help their ally, Liege, gain some territory. They take advantage of the opportunity and cut off a large piece of territory from Lorraine for themselves.

Meanwhile, Ambrosia invades Naples, ending up at war with Austria as well. Even when facing off against the allies altogether, Ambrosia's army is much too large to be challenged. It isn't any contest to begin with, but Ambrosia calls in Latice just to be sure.

1561, Hueynation begins the final conquest of Pezcado. They ultimately annex the last Pezs provinces in Africa, exiling the Zoroastrians to their Caribbean colony.

In 1562 Lancashire completes its integration of Castile.

1563 marks the last year in which the Jewish state holds on to power. With this final partition war – involving Khuzait, Livonia, and Prussia – Zion is no more.

In 1564 Templar and Ambrosia finish their respective wars, each taking a very large piece of territory from their respective enemies. Coalitions soon form against both of them, and they are forced to settle down with their rampant warring. A time of uneasy peace settles in over Europe, partly because of these coalitions, but also partly because of the formation of religious leagues.

The various nations of Europe have started taking up sides against one another in a massive set of alliances – the leagues – to determine the future of the Holy Roman Empire. In dire anticipation of the coming war, few kingdoms dare to drain their manpower by making any big wars in the meantime.

Kurdistan begins closing up the Adriatic coastline by invading Ragusa and what is left of Venice, taking a few more territories close to the wealthy shipping lanes of Italy.

In 1570 Hueynation invades Morocco, seizing a few more regions in north Africa.

Khuzait invades Kazan, ultimately annexing the entire remainder of the steppe kingdom.

And Amazon invades Chernigov, which was allied with Wallachia. They expect an easy win, and indeed they do occupy Chernigov almost immediately, but Wallachia commits to a dogged defense of their ally.

In 1573 Barcelona helps Avignon take some territory from Dauphine. Although they might not be able to help among the larger nations as a valuable ally, Barcelona is certainly the king of the minor nations, and dominates the conflict through their triumph over Switzerland.

The Amazons only had in quantity what the westernized Wallachians had in quality; in the end, quality won out, and the smaller Wallachian army claimed victory. Although Chernigov was annexed by Amazon, Wallachia did succeed in taking the two provinces of Transylvania. With a gift from Kurdistan of the last province needed to form a new state, Wallachia takes up the title of Romania.

In 1575, Ambrosia finally breaks the decade of shaky peace among the greater powers by invading the Papal State, which brings them to war with a multitude of German and French states which had allied with the Pope. Less than a week later, the Templar take advantage of the situation by invading Barcelona, hoping that the Ambrosians and Lancasters will be too distracted in Italy to stop them.

1577, the battle of Cuneo is the largest fought in Europe over the last century. The Templar, Hueynation, and the Papal State face off against Ambrosia, Lancashire, and Barcelona all at once. The field is a bloodbath, and although it ultimately is a Templar victory, both sides lost massive quantities of troops.

The battle of Cuneo proves to be the spark needed to ignite the powder keg of Germany. With their manpower drained and their armies already weary of war, the Templar and Hueynation are judged to be in no state for defending Catholicism. Prussia, leading the Protestant League, declares war upon the Holy Roman Emperor, dragging the entire continent to war behind the Prussian banner.

Seen on the map above are the two rival alliances. The Protestant League (red) led by the King in Prussia, and the Catholic League (green) led by the Holy Roman Emperor in Brabant. The conclusion of this war will determine whether or not Protestants can be elected emperor.

As you can see from this map, most of Germany has fallen under the sway of Martin Luther, meaning that a realignment is critical for the survival of the Holy Roman Empire. Otherwise, Catholics will continue to dominate a super-state comprised of Protestant princes who wish to have nothing to do with the very empire they are subject to.

Naotho in exile, still conquering every native tribe that dares to wander too close to their borders. Also pictured here is the Camarilite colony of Massachusetts and Frittland's colony of Vinland.

The Caribbean. The Templar have expanded along the Texan coastline and Lancashire is taking the rich West Indies entirely uncontested. Frittland has built a colony in Panama, and Pezcado is thriving in their new island home.

South America. Lancashire has taken the Falklands, as any sensible Brit would do, and Hueynation has expanded deep into the continent, edging up against a Templar colony and a tiny Lancashire outpost in the north.

South Africa has been completely dominated by the Templar, who have cut off access to the inland region from the sea.

You cannot see it very well in this picture, but Latice has established colonies on several islands surrounding Malacca in western Indonesia. Their growth has been slow, however, as Latice underwent westernization this past decade and has had to spend a lot of money and manpower in he suppression of many large-scale revolts rather than invest in colonies.

Europe at the onset of hostilities. This coming turn will see a grand-scale war the likes of which we have not seen before and likely will not see again for at least a few centuries.

Latice
- Build up army.

- Invade Hejaz again.

1577-1584

All armies are color coded for your convenience.
Blue = Catholic League
Red = Protestant League

Right off the bat it looks as if the Protestant League is at a significant disadvantage, but these numbers do not reflect the absolute truth because Lancashire and Ambrosia are technically not involved in the league war, as they were already fighting the Templar and Hueynation in a separate war beforehand. This means that there are actually two simultaneous wars ongoing, but they function as a single war because the sides are the same in both of them.

Here is a tech map, with brighter shades of green representing higher levels of tech. Camarilla and Ambrosia are among the most advanced nations in Europe, followed closely by Romania, Barcelona and Prussia. Templar, Hueynation, Lancashire, and Kurdistan will find themselves at a slight disadvantage during the war for falling behind, and both Amazon and Khuzait are even further back. Latice should thank the stars that they are not involved, as the technology gap between them and Europe is abysmal.

October, 1577. The war opens with a Prussian invasion of the Netherlands, which is presently the seat of Catholic power with Brabant as the emperor. Presumably they are moving in to take the Imperial Capital as soon as possible, to secure a rapid end to the war.

Meanwhile, in southern Poland Prussia's allies fend off a Catholic invasion, defeating the combined forces of Romania and Kurdistan outside of Krakow.

November, 1577. The Prussian army surrounds the imperial palace in Brabant. The Emperor's forces engage the Prussians, but are defeated. The Prussians lay siege to the Holy Roman capital.

December, 1577. Camarilla is still fighting an endless rebel uprising in the north, and in the dead of winter as well, draining their manpower from attrition and fighting. Continued revolts threaten to distract the Nords out of the league war entirely.

January, 1578. Prussia's allies continue the fight, pushing out of Prussia itself and towards Kurdistan. They hold overwhelming superiority in both numbers and quality of arms and leadership.

The first Catholic victory of the war is won in southern France. Ambrosia, moving to make a push against the Templar, is ultimately defeated by combined reinforcements from Hueynation and the Emperor.

Nobody is paying attention to North Africa, and so Barcelona makes a run for Fez.

August, 1578. The Catholic allies have finally mobilized to full strength, and fight a series of battles across Bohemia, turning the tide back towards Prussia.

Meanwhile, the combined forces of Livonia and Khuzait fight several battles over Zaporozhie against Romania and Kurdistan.

January, 1579. The Templar have moved north, removing the Prussian army from Brabant and pushing the Protestants all the way to the very edge of the Netherlands. Prussia's involvement west of the Rhine is ended after a year of fighting across the Dutch countryside.

Simultaneously, the Catholics make another move towards Krakow, and although they are defeated by the Prussians the simple fact that they are able to make assaults against Prussia rather than remain entirely on the defensive shows that the Prussian war has gone sour.

Camarilla finally deals with its rebel problem, marching into Khuzait only to have their army annihilated in a curbstomp battle against Livonia and Khuzait at Nizhny Novgorod.

May, 1579. The Catholic League is pushing ever farther north into Prussia, and although the Prussians continue to consistently win battles, their armies are unable to keep up with bouncing from front to front to fight every attacker that crosses their borders.

October. The Prussians move to defend their Bohemian allies and meet with the full might of the combined armies from the western front.

July, 1580. Prussia continues to send forays into Germany to help their allies, but it is no use. One by one the Protestant kingdoms sign separate peace treaties with Brabant, slowly closing down the already lost war for Germany. Prussia itself is beginning to see more and more action as the western part of the war comes to a formal close.

August, 1581. The massive combined army finally crosses the Prussian border. Prussia suffers its first defeat on its own lands.

November, 1581. The battle for Zaporozhye continues, now on much different terms. The Protestants, now relying entirely upon Khuzait for that front, begin to lose their grip on the region.

February, 1582. The Catholic League closes in on Konigsberg, the Prussian capital. By this point the only nations still in the war on Prussia's side are Livonia and Khuzait. In late 1581 both Ambrosia and Lancashire called for peace with the Templar, sealing Prussia's doom. Now it is only a matter of time before the final collapse.

March, 1583. Camarilla has raised a new army and the Zaporozhie front has collapsed. Catholic League forces move in to destroy Khuzait.

July, 1583. Prussia is entirely occupied and their armies destroyed, but the Catholics refuse to sign peace until Khuzait has also been humbled.

(color code swapped for this picture; red = Catholic League & Bukhara, Green = Khuzait)

April, 1584. Bukhara has declared war upon Khuzait; Latice has dishonored and broken their alliance because they are in no shape to fight Bukhara. All the armies of Europe descend upon the region from the west, surrounding what is left of Khuzait. This finally convinces the Catholic League that there is nothing more to fight for; they have won, and are content to sign a peace at last.

The face of Europe in 1584 after the signing of peace. Prussia has lost the most by far, giving up Pommerania to Camarilla and ceding Poland as an independent state. Livonia has lost much as well to Camarilla and the new Muscovy, and Zaporozhie no longer exists at all. Lancashire has lost even more lands in Iberia, but Ambrosia (by virtue of making peace slightly earlier than Lancashire, while on winning terms) has gained Genoa.

Kurdistan has expanded a little further northwest of Croatia, and now has a border with their hated Italian rival. Latice has had their hands full during the course of the League War with a war of their own: civil war has broken out across Egypt and North Africa, and Latice's westernization progress is going very poorly. Khuzait may yet lose a lot more than they already have due to the Bukharan invasion.

The largest armies by force limit in 1584, color coded by league.

Most nations involved have fallen below ten thousand manpower, and many mercenaries flood the ranks of Europe's armies to make up for their lost soldiers. Prussia ends the war with no army whatsoever, although their allies manage to fare much better, with both Ambrosia and Lancashire maintaining large armies due to the former's pseudo-victory and the latter's almost nonexistent participation in the entire war; Lancashire remained holed up on the island once they realized that they weren't winning any battles.

The Catholic League has suffered more evenly, with only Frittland coming out of the war with a somewhat respectable manpower pool. Kurdistan, Templar, and Brabant have been completely drained by the conflict.

Diplomacy is entirely up in the air at this point. Alliances are ready to be made or remade, a majority of them severed by the League War, and rivalries are changing due to the shift in balance of power. Now is a perfect time to gain new allies and reverse hostile relations, should you wish to do so.

Aurea Ambrosia:
- Try to ally Templars, Lattice, Hueynation, and Khuzait.
- Put claims over the rest of italian peninsula and Swiss territory if the alliance is broken, and corsica/sardinia.
- Once the armies recover, invade Naples and Sardinia.
- Rival Kurdistan, Switzerland, and Naples.

Greater Lancashire

- Ally with Frittland, Camarilla. See what happens after that. Rival Templars and Hueynation.
- Focus heavily on navy – max out naval force-limit with a good amount of heavy ships.
-Focus more on colonies in the west indies, and try to get a larger foothold on america. try to also get a colony in west africa.
-Stay catholic now, the penalties for converting are gonna be too much. Seriously fuck you AI im still bitter about that.
-Get trade ideas at some point and go for dominance of the Caribbean and american trade nodes

Heads will roll for that shambolic handling of the war. We will strike down on the Templars before long.

Well I didn't expect that, as for my commands:

Latice
- Ally with Aurea Ambrosia, Khuzait and Greater Lancashire.
- Rival Templars and Naples.
- Focus on westernization and quelling the rebellion.
- Pursue trade ideas and try to establish influence over trade routes in the Mediterranean and East Indies.
- Build up the army and navy.

1584-1608

Khuzait convinces Bukhara to end the war by giving them a large bit of land near the Caspian. Fortunately this territory was all of very low value, and was not much of a loss to Khuzait.

1585, Kurdistan invades the last Turkish minor state, as Latice has withdrawn its guarantee of the territory's independence.

In 1587 Barcelona invaded and quickly annexed the last remnant of Tunis. When the war ended, the vote was called for a new emperor and Barcelona won. This gives Barcelona with a much larger army and tax income from the entire Holy Roman Empire to support that army, but it also obliges Barcelona to come to the support of any German prince that is attacked by a country outside the HRE.

They follow up in 1589 with an invasion of Sardinia.

In 1590 Liege declared war upon Lorraine, dragging the Templar in to help them. Many other states in the area are drawn into the war as well, including Avignon's only ally, Savoy. This gives Barcelona an opportunity to invade Avignon, which they soon take advantage of.

Hueynation declares war upon Morocco in 1591. The Moroccans are completely overtaken, and Hueynation annexes most of the country.

Meanwhile, Ambrosia invades Naples, which brings in a few allied German states. Ambrosia spends the next few years sending its armies back and forth between Naples and Switzerland to fight its many enemies.

Barcelona annexes Avignon in its entirety. The Templar return two of Barcelona's provinces to them and strike up an alliance.

Latice continues to fight wave after wave of rebellions, its army whittled down to a pathetic size and its manpower reserves entirely drained. On the bright side, they have finally completed their westernization in 1592.

Unfortunately for Latice, in 1593 Kurdistan and Persia declare war. Without any suitable armies to defend itself, Latice must rely upon its Italian ally to do all of the fighting, but Ambrosia has decided instead to invest itself entirely in fighting Germans to conquer Naples.

1594, Barcelona knows an opportunity when it sees one and declares war as well.

Amazon, meanwhile, is experiencing a total collapse of society. Peasants are rising up everywhere.

It does not take long for Latice to be overrun. Within a year Barcelona is laying siege to Cairo and Damascus has fallen into Kurdish hands.

Muscovy is having an identity crisis and has somehow mutated into Novgorod.

1595, Latice bows down to the invaders and surrenders territory to Kurdistan, Barcelona, and Persia. Ambrosia, meanwhile, has all of its armies in Sicily, and never made even a single motion during the war to send an attack force against neither Kurdistan nor Barcelona.

Lancashire makes war upon Mali…

…and as they do so the Templar declare war upon Lancashire alongside their allies, Hueynation and Barcelona. Although the war goal is to take Cornwall, the Templar never manage to land a single army in Britain due to Lancashire's superior navy.

In 1598 Frittland invades Naotho. It takes some time for Naotho to mobiles its forces in their entirety, and when they do they actually launch most of their attacks into New Camarilla, rather than fend off the Friemann army marching towards their capital in the far north.

Prussia ends a strange war with Poland and friends in 1598 in which they simultaneously lose and gain land. The Prussians gain much more than they lose, though.

In 1602 Romania and Prussia invade Amazon and, after destroying the Amazonian armies, rush north to fight Amazon's allies, Camarilla and Frittland. While they are fighting in the north, one-province Hungary declares war, launching a small army out of their single Carpathian fortress to occupy almost all of Amazon on their own.

Barcelona invades Sicily in 1604.

By 1606 the war has been brought to Frittland, Naple's only ally.

Europe in 1608. Frittland calls it quits on both wars simultaneously, allowing both Naples and Amazon to be destroyed. Silesia is simultaneously partitioned in another war also involving Prussia. Livonia has gone Protestant, allowing them to secularize and reform as the Kingdom of Kurland. Muscovgorod has been annexed by Camarilla in a very short war, and Khuzait has begun colonizing Siberia.

Everybody can see East Asia now that European explorers have been there (previously I was only sharing this map via pm with those who could see it). Ming China collapsed at some point, leaving behind a great number of tiny squabbling states in its wake. Latice is steadily colonizing the East Indies.

Sub-Saharan Africa. Lancashire is steadily carving out pieces of West Africa and Medri Bahdri's empire has been dismantled.

South America. Frittland's Panama company is slowly expanding. Huey Brazil has become a behemoth, and Lancashire has established a colony in Argentina.

Central America. Pezcado has recently begun conquering natives, fighting two successive wars against the Cherokee nation and their allies. Lancashire has total dominance over the Lesser Antilles, the most valuable provinces in the Americas, which nobody else even thought to contest them on. Mexico remains entirely undisturbed by Europe.

Northern America. Naotho has completely annexed Vinland, having eventually turned the war against Frittland and Camarilla around in spite of early defeats. New Camarilla continues to expand, but has been cornered by Naotho and native tribes.

Diplomacy. Khuzait had a short-lived alliance with Camarilla, but for whatever reason they had a falling out and broke up. Prussia took offense at this short friendship, however, and now harbors ill will towards Khuzait, adding to the long list of nations that want to see the Tengrists suffer. Templar, Hueynation, and Barcelona, being the only big Catholic nations left besides Lancashire, have formed an alliance together, as if they were trying to rebuild the Catholic League. Camarilla has become the first European to extend a hand of friendship outside of Europe, forging an alliance with Kongo. Bizarrely, Pezcado and Frittland have taken exception towards one another, despite never having interacted.
