Alright then, let's put up a discussion topic.

As some of you might be aware, plans for reorganisation of certain MLP sub-entries are being made. I won't get into detail, but the main problem lies with Pony Re-Imaginings for various reasons.

Well then, currently most ways head to me making an entry for Pony Fads. Ponies in Socks and Ponies with Juiceboxes (yes, I changed the name) are the most popular sub-memes to be added to that page. But more are being discussed.

This is where you guys come in. What do you think about the idea? Are the 2 memes above enough or should the entry contain more? And so yes, what? Or should I just launch the idea into orbit?

I'd like to know the opinion of you guys. Feel free to give suggestions to the idea and discuss it. When discussing, please use arguments. Also feel free to counter another person's opinion (but stay nice).

Oh there's enough for Ponies with Juiceboxes.

I feel like such a duffus for asking this, But I don't understand how you friend someone. I see no button for it. Have some pony so no one bitches about my question not being pony related.

Don't forget ponies in sweaters.
Also mention famous comic strips or tumblrs. Tumblrs would qualify as a fad and that is a good place where it could get a large subsection.

"Follow" and "Friend" have the same purpose.

When someone follows you, the button on his profile becomes "Be Friends".
Similar the other way. When you follow someone, that person can click "Be Friends" on your profile.

So basically, both sides have to accept following the other. Or a friendship won't be available.

Speaking of which, in Social Sisterhooves, Rarity actually had a sweater.

If you follow a person they have a button which allows them to friend you. If someone follows you, go to their profile and at the top where it would say to follow, it will say do you want to be friends. DO IT FILLY!

If the article will be made, it'll will most likely be sunday.

Currently I don't have access to my own laptop. Tomorrow I have a trip from my work. When I return, I'll most likely be drunk. And I won't make an article when drunk.

Well, that sounds like a good idea but be I think that "ponies with sweaters" is getting some notice currently (don't quote me on that, I may be wrong). I think it would be simpler to make ponies with socks include sweaters (if they gain enough of an audience) and just rename it to "Ponies with clothing" or something of the sort.
The juicboxes are cute but right now, I'm not entirely sure if it's spread wide enough, I've only seen is on that one tumblr with pinkie and fluttershy (and the one with surprise).
But, this is all your decision, feel free to disregard my opinion if you feel it shouldn't be noted.

I never understood why there was other memes added to Pony Re-Imagings. Lier-Jack is not a re-image of anything. It is a sub-meme though.
EDIT: Remember the sub-meme categories in the MLP entry were made because it was getting too big and the sub-memes stood on their own. I don't see why because of people complaining that should change. Even from bronies there is complaints and if other sites see them and use them as a sub-meme we should be able to categorize it as such.

Hence, that entry being the main problem.

We've added too many memes to that entry. It somewhat became our get out of jail free card. Whenever a popular submeme would pop-up that couldn't be merged with any of the other excisting entries, that article would become the solution.

The creation of a fads entry is one of the solutions for this problem that came up so far. But yeah, there are still other sub-memes that don't fit with the title. If you have a title suggestion that makes that meme also related to it, please tell. Other possible solutions are also welcome.

More about Liarjack: I was doubting whether Pony Re-Imagings or Pony Reactions would be a better entry for it. But it was added to Re-Imaginings before I could make a final decision, so I left it like that. Maybe Pony Reactions wasn't a bad idea afterall, since it's most commonly used as a derivative of "I LIED!". Nonetheless, it's too small for its own page.

A Fad entry would be all the sub-memes and would be just as big of a mess. The main MLP page is such a mess because people still post stuff that should be in a sub-meme on there. I would think that would be somewhat of the same with a fad entry.

I've been ambivalent about the existence of all of the sub-meme articles anyway. I figured that a sub-meme article didn't even need to be made unless it could stand outside of its original context.

(i.e, People who aren't Bronies understand and use a meme that stemmed from another meme/subculture.)

I figure Derpy Hooves/Doctor Whooves/Pony Reactions are the only sub-memes that could approach that, and the other ones aren't notable outside of the community to merit their own article. But that may be a misunderstanding on my part of what sub-memes are.
 
 
Anywho, based off of what has been created so far, I'd say more needs to be added into the Pony Fads section before creating it.

The creation of a Pony Fads article will help to keep the number of FiM articles down and will help make the related entries easier to comprehend upon a glance (especially later on if more fads come up.) So I don't think it's a bad idea.

However, I do think waiting a while to make it is also a good idea. Who's to say the FiM even creates any more true fads? It may just yield sayings and memes that are somehow different from trends. If that happens to be the case, then there would just be two points to the article that's supposed to show multiple trends.

Oh, I have a question. I assume the sub-memes linked from the main article are all confirmed, yes? But Flutterjuice (now Ponies with Juiceboxes) is not in those 22. Will the Ponies with Juiceboxes article be deleted altogether when moved to the hypothetical Pony Fads? I didn't think an article could be deleted, but it would be redundant for it to have two mentions. I figure there are tons of weak FiM articles that would have been deleted if it was easy to remove an entry.

I think one popular thing became unclear to my own blame. What the new article will be used for is popular fads in fanworks. The socks and juiceboxes (and sweaters) are good examples of art fads. Maybe fanfic fads also get a part, but I'm not aware of any existing ones. So far, it will most likely be for just art fads.

I have already deadpooled both the original Ponies in Socks and Flutterjuice entries. Ponies in Socks was of bad quality and already added to Re-Imaginings. Flutterjuice (Ponies with Juiceboxes) is being put on hold with the current ideas present, but it was still too small for an own page and therefore I deadpooled it.

If the article comes, both solo articles will remain deadpooled and Ponies in Socks will be removed from Re-Imaginings.

And no, not all articles added as sub-entries to MLP are confirmed. This isn't a standard for entries to become a sub-entry for something else. But still, only mods can add sub-entries. Giving everyone the ability would let people add their own "memes" to a popular entry in an attempt for attention.

I'm not aware if entries can be deleted, I think only the staff can do this. Moderators however, are able to hide entries. This will make them hidden from the public, giving only mods access to them. For example, the original Fluttershy is a Tree and Scootaloo is a Chicken entries are still present. You just can't see them. Hidden entries don't appear that often, we most commonly hid them with mergings and when they break the site rules. But even then sometimes they're only deadpooled.

Completely unrelated to the topic, but tomorrow I'm doing it. And I'm recording. MLP is on right before my sister's last soccer game of the season, 7-8 AM my time.
My setup is going to be pretty simple, I'll set up the camera to record on lowest quality for however long (It can record up to 44 minutes, conveniently just under 2 episodes), probably leaning against a pillow or held up by two decks of cards on a different table. Either way, expect rage to follow. I'll be 100% cool. If she decides to kick me out, I can just call the police after I walk to my friend's house (about 4 miles away).
If she doesn't freak, she's a better parent than I thought.
If she freaks out moderately I can expect that living with her will be hell.
If she assumes I'm gay on the spot I might rage.
Either way, I'm posting it sometime. I'll probably record with my phone AND my HD camera at the same time, just so I have multiple copies.
