Anyway, I came by to say that FiM season sets are not likely. According to Shout! Factory (that's the company producing the discs,) DVDs for children's shows sell much better as individual episodes or 3-5 episode discs. This is a fact known by Shout! and the retailers.

Briefly, as a community, the only way to get them to produce and package a whole season set is to get retailers to request season sets. The only way retailers will request them is if the Brony demographic makes retailers know we are large enough and willing to buy a whole season for $30-40. And unfortunately, we could send a million emails, but there's no way to prove we'd buy a whole set…

Unless we ALL essentially bought ALL of the shorter discs.

Really, guys…

HASBRO, y u no cater to bronies?!? We'll buy your shit if you make it good!

Page GETtedness: y they no partner with hot topic and welovefine? Or get more model makers… They could use the art and artist from the show to make accurate 3D models! Grrrrrrrr…

Hasbro, we are disappoint.

y they no partner with hot topic and welovefine?

Welovefine would be better. Hot Topic…..how should I say this? Makes the tubes leak.

Happy?

Cuz they did made us these abominations.

And look at the top, near the "My Little Pony" logo.

Did they just made Scootaloo a chicken?

Dear Celestia….please let it not be so.

Before you know it this will spread.

Rarity will get her own marshmallows and we'll find Colgate on tubes of MLP toothpaste.

The fandom will become accepted as canon.

Fuck that shit to the deepest dungeon in the place where it is banished to.

Why can't they see that the bronies are now their target audience?

A need to cater mainly to little girls? I wish they would cater to bronies too.

Little girls are still the main focus of MLP, Hasbro can't ignore that. From a PR perspective, it may be wise for Hasbro to keep it that way in case they get caught up in whatever controversies that suddenly surround Brony's

Also I heard reports that Brony's…despite their massive spread, still represent only a small amount of the demographic that buys Hasbro products. The parents of little girls are larger still (maybe, I'm not sure. I have yet to see some statistics)

I wen to the entry today and happy t know that the R34 is gone but when I went to the pictures I was all like:

Mother of Celestia…..it continues…

That may be true but we are still an important part of it. We gave them Derpy and Dinky. Some attention to us would be nice.

Random, looks like you have some flank to kick.

It's pretty funny, rule 34 doesn't phase me, and to be honest, I don't mind it the way some of you guys do, but yeah, this is not the place for it.

There are other sites and shit, but KYM? Not so much.

Aren't they already kinda partnered with Hot Topic and WeLoveFine? Cause I remember E-mailing WeLoveFine about their shirts and asking if they were officially licensed merchandise, and this was the response.

Ideological the Vinyl Scratch wrote:

No idea

@Ray: WeLoveFine has more merch than Hot Topic. Hot Topic only sells one shirt imo.

True, but what I was getting at is that they may already be partnered up with both of them, and if they are indeed, they should see that the adult stuff from WeLoveFine is more then likely selling.

Yeah but still, Hot Topic makes the internet leak. Other types of people go there besides Bronies and knowing how some of those people are (i.e. hip-hop/rap fanatics), it won't be good.

Hasbro! Shut up and take my bits!

They can take mine if and only if they don't change Dr. Whooves' name.

It's probably because we aren't the target audience. Despite our fandom being pretty damn huge on the internet, we are far outnumbered by the actual target audience (i.e. little girls). They could improve the quality their toy range so that more bronies will buy them, but the increase in manufacturing costs wouldn't be balanced by the small increase in sales. The girls who buy the merchandise couldn't care less if the toys are show-accurate or not, so they'll keep buying at the same rate regardless.
I know it kinda sucks, but Hasbro is a business after all, and you have to expect them to choose the strategy that maximises profits.

And now back to lurking/doing homework.

I could careless about what goes on in the business world. I want accurate figures! And maybe a Bonnie/Noi one.

They'll have to change his name. I'm not sure, but wouldn't using that cause the Dr. Who company to call copyright infringement?

Good luck with this, cause Algernon pretty much hit the nail on the head as to way it'll never happen.

The first part would upset part of the fandom. And the least they can do is make a Noi figure. I'd be satisfied.

ಠ_ಠ They've already done that, multiple times, and besides, I don't think they'd want to risk copyright infringement with the BBC. It's fine when the fans call him that, and mind you, don't make money off of it, but should Hasbro actually start calling him that and making money off of it, that'd cause some trouble.

Ah well. We still have Derpy. There's no way they can get sued for that name.
Ponyconfessions, y u no approve my confession?

Maybe they don't think your confession is depressing / crazy / kinky enough. In that case, you should probably be glad. It means you're still sane.

I need to have a look at that tumblr.

Yeah, I doubt that they could get in trouble for that, particularly since Faust herself said that she can be Derpy if people like.

Mine are not even confessions lol. I just like to poke fun at some stuff once in a while. I don't care if anyone poke fun at MLP because I know for a fact it is a great fandom.

And it seems that Jason also approves of the name. Him and the rest of the creators.

Yeah. I tend to fight stupid with stupid because that's the only thing some people can only understand.

I'm sorry to say this to you guys but…we're just not worth the effort for Hasbro to cater to us.

I recall a while back we managed to estimate that the number of Bronies was somewhere around 30'000~40'000 based on EqD hits and other information. That is very small despite our net presence and frankly if Hasbro did refocus on us, as a business student I would probably be reading about their decision in a textbook as an example of "Shit that you shouldn't do with licensed properties". Compare approx 40'000 bronies with millions of little girls and the choice is obvious. Not only would we buy less, we would need a higher quality and higher cost item for us to even consider buying a pony product. So why bother?

Think about Anime. Anime is huge, right? WRONG! Despite massive presence on the internet, Funamation an 4kids are the only major dubbers left in the business. Everyone else went bankrupt, there just isn't enough people to support a market.

We're lucky, MLP depends on merchandise sale and not TV ratings and since we all watch stuff on streams rather than the Hub…. MLP would have been dead like anime dubs a long time ago.

Frankly, I think that if Hasbro began to cater to the bronies, the show would… Idunno. It'd change, possibly for the worse.

I say that Hasbro should keep doing what they're doing. We get, what, fifty billion new memes per episode because they're focusing on little girls, keep it that way for now.

Aren't we able to purchase handmade and custom-made stuff online? And aren't some of us content with the toys as they are?

I don't mind the blind bag ponies to much, I just wish they'd use different molds for the bodies from time to time.

Alright, tomorrow is new pony time, and it's the one I've been waiting on, the Cutie Pox episode. Mainly to see if cutie pox is a regular disease for these ponies and if any other pony besides Apple Bloom will get it, or has had it.
