Look of disapproval Twilight was crazy, but not grimdark crazy, and besides, even if she did get that point, Celestia would intervene and make sure things didn't get out of hand.

R34 doesn't bother me as much as some others, but I don't like the grimdark for some reason, it'd be like putting the ponies in ME3 when it comes out, though Shy would probably stare the Reapers back into space and it'd be awesome.

Yep, thankfully without a marathon to precede it this time, which means I won't have to get up even earlier then usual…though last time I didn't have to get up, I was up all friggen night since I couldn't get to sleep, but it made it worth it since I got to see the entire marathon and the Hearts and Hooves episode.

I saw this and was reminded of how I wished the "Return to Harmony" story went:

Rather than being easily smitten an episode later, Discord wins, unseats Celestia and conquers everything. What followed next would be an epic struggle for Twilight and she goes on a quest to win her friends back and defeat Discord…not in just one episode but across several. Instead of Twilight getting her friends back in one montage. She spends entire episodes of action and drama getting them back, one by one. That would have been quite a story to follow.

How many people here sort of wished the story went on for longer, had more action/drama, had more quests, had more plot etc? I reckon if more development was put into the synopsis of Return to Harmony, it could have made for quite a series.

Eh, who am I kidding? I'm the only one who really thinks that.

Have some more steampunk ponies instead.

I love how ever since we first started discussing steamponies, we've been getting more art like this showing up. And I love it, keep it up.

But seriously, although I agree that it would have made for a nice serial, you have to remember it's a kids show, and kids would probably have a hard time recollecting what happened in previous episodes. I think if the writers decided to, they could do an amazing serial storyline, but I think for now, that's not going to happen.

Once again, do not expect me to be around at all tomorrow, or as much as usual over the next week. Vacation and whatnot.

I love the light hearted, innocent, somewhat silly atmosphere of the show. I really don't think a recurring villain style thing would work.

I know you are right. More elaborate stories that please the older audience is really up to the fanfic writers. If I want it so bad I should write a fanfic about it myself, but I am unsure of my abilities in that department.

Speaking of absence. My trip to the System Of A Down concert is coming up in 3 days. During that time I'll be gone from the forum for a few days but it's gonna be good.

Why ?
Because most of the school "good" music consist of Rihanna, Micky Minage, Kesha, and other rappers who just repeats the same word over and over again.
Only once did I play "Aerials" and "Toxicity" their response was and quoted

Needless to say I pissed them off by putting a A7X song on the class speakers. They called me names. I just played it louder. While looking at my little Dash pin I carry around. Ignoring them.

Nice! If it pains them so much to hear it, let them hear it more. They need to learn that listening [or not listening] to some kind of music doesn't make them better

Isn't it funny how so many of us have the same resentment? We all encountered those kinds of people who parade around Rihanna (always her music) like it makes them the king of the world and we were ostracized from the schoolyard social scene for liking anything different.

I heard some of their music just to see what was the fuss was all about. In 15 seconds into the song I literally just had enough. I imagined all those people who thought this was great and think. SO I just forget about em and put on "Sugar" by SOAD.

Same here. None of that stuff ever interested me. Listening to some person sing instructions on how to spank their booty/spank other people's booties was just off-putting for me

But it was pretty much the only music I ever heard growing up so I ended up thinking I never had any interest in music whatsoever.

Fortunately I did have friends who introduced me to SOAD, Rammstien and Disturbed

It sounds like this episode's gonna be epic. I've read a few fanfics that revolved around Spike's identity issues, and they were generally pretty good ('It Takes a Village' was brilliant, I recommend it to any fanfic readers here). It also sounds like it will add quite a lot to Equestrian lore, and that's almost always a good thing.

I'm still saying moot's trolling us all. And even if he's not, this is just a desperate attempt to keep bronies on 4chan instead of going to Ponychan or… that other chan.

Could be, but what's interesting is that a lot of broneis who post on 4 chan do so because they prefer the environment there over ponychan's and are pretty vocal about it. A lot of them may have stayed anyway.

Regardless, it'll be interesting to see how things go.

It have been cool for the season 2 opening to last several episodes. But that messes with the flow of the show, and it is supposed to be a kid show.

If I remember correctly (but don't quote me on this, it might be my brain making stuff up) the pilot was originally supposed to be an arc like that, she gained her friends one at a time over more than one episode and then finally realized that they were her friends in the end.

Well, time for Pinkie Pie. I wonder if we get to see some flat mane when the donkey rejects her friendship.

Personally, I am pretty fond of mainstream music. Thats not to say that hip hop is my favorite( My favorite bands are Alice in chains, sound garden, pearl jam, sound garden, and gad smack). I just try to find something I like in everything. I mean, I love Shakira( though, not to sound Like a hipster, but I liked her before Oral fixation). For me, as long as it sounds good, I'll listen.

Hehe, I remember Shakira when she first appeared. In my school she was considered " The Shorter Brittney Spears"

The school I went to was just like any other school. Perhaps more importantly, I was there when Rap and R&B had that huge explosion in popularity and the Wigga/Shav/Wangsta fashion was born. Plus it was also the height of the Brittney Spears and Avril Lavange fandoms.

Nobody got bashed for liking rock in my school, the rockers were still plentiful and strong but it was drowned out among all the rap and pop.

Those who liked more niche genre's like Trance were definitely locked in the boys toilets.

How often to you find people who constantly whine about R&B and hip hop? You might find many of them are guys my age who remember the day rap took over and didn't roll with it. Those guys are still sore about it and hate on rap in the YouTube comments for trance music.

I like a lot of grunge and right now I'm trying to improve my PJ, SG and AIC collection.
Also, my band all got called emos for playing Smells Like Teen Spirit at school.

Anyway, I'm so glad that Smile Smile Smile finally showed up, I didn't listen to the leak so that was the first time I heard it. Even the cheesy key change at the end (which is one of the things I hate about popular music).

@Algernon: Actually, you're not, I never heard it till now as well. I never saw the leaked song, so yeah, and also, just as I thought, this is not going to well for Cranky as if you don't befriend Pinkie, she'll stalk you till you do, and that tends to be when she's at her extreme randomness.
