I thought the new episode was good. I listened to the new song before hand because I knew it wouldn't ruin it for me, I've never cared about the songs very much. The song was pretty good I suppose. I generally thought the episode was really good. I loved the stop motion felt part, pinkie was hilarious throughout, and cranky's story was pretty sad. However, I didn't like the moral. I would have preferred if they had used the moral more like:

"Not everybody is going to like you, no matter who you are, but you shouldn't let it get you down. You shouldn't go out of your way to make somebody like you. There are plenty more friends to be had"

But of course to do that they'd have to change a lot of key parts of the episode. It just doesn't sit right with me that pinkie managed to make friends with someone by pestering and annoying him until he befriended her.

but how else are u supposed to befriend someone? Just convince them to go to your place, tie them down and torture them untill they agree to be your friend

you should just stop trying to be their friend, being kind to someone does not make them obligated to like you. Especially if you spend a whole day following them and ignoring all of their requests for you to leave them alone.

That could be an alternate ending. She gets depressed that he keeps avoiding her, she goes all pinkamena, breaks into his house, tortures him until he becomes her friend, he then dies, she writes a letter about how not everyone can be your friend.

That's actually incorrect, Pinkie didn't make friends with cranky by pestering him until he befriended her, it was the exact opposite: she became friends with Cranky when she stopped being all HYPER and took the time to know him and his story.

God forbid I should ever encounter such blatant stupidity. Are you in elementary school? Who doesn't know about Queen? And for them to get so mad over what music you listen to. Its those kind of idiots that need a good beating so they can realize they are no better than anyone else. Luckily, I went to a high school were guys wore wiggles backpacks and went to Hannah montana concerts( ironically) so unless you liked Manga, people didn't give shit what you liked.

I think flashbacks are interesting, but it takes a lot to pull them off right. They are great elements to a story, but only if they're done right. Anyway, what movie is it and why do you have to watch it?

Is the Pony discussion topic the opinions of music that everyone has their own prerogative to like or dislike, regardless of how bad you think it is? Or is it how people insult your taste in music and, in turn, you feel the need to insult theirs?

People who hassle others about it are immature. There's not much else to say about it unless you want to get objective about it. Also, to steal the tag from Ponibooru, "where_the_hell_is_my_damn_pony"?
 
Engie, I'll be blunt on the matter. It's too soon for you to consider getting back with the person that chose to break up with you on Valentine's Day. If she wanted to make a spectacle of ending a relationship on a commercialized day of romance, then you don't want to get with her any time soon. She's got a lot of growing to do before being with anyone or she needs to get some issues straight. It will not take a couple of weeks, and most certainly not a few days.

Now, the thread title can be changed after it's posted. So we don't have to be stuck with it.

But we did a vote. None of those complaining about it suggested an alternative way to fix it before the vote, and Random was nice enough to organize a vote from tons of suggestions. Even now, no one is suggesting how to change it. They're just saying it sucks. And now that the vote didn't go your way, you're throwing it out?

I think the thing was rigged, but it's still Pony General. I don't really care what the name of it is. I'm not going to waste many posts on it. We also have a lot of lurkers here (check the thread views,) and maybe they liked it. I doubt it, but there could be some fundamental differences between those who are vocal enough to post and those who choose not to for whatever reason that made this one the winner. I didn't vote for it, but I'm OK with it as long as it's flipping Pony General, and as long as people are talking and posting ponies.

Furthermore, if a person can't tell what the thread is by the subtitle, then the main title, KYM Pony General V, oughta do it. It they can't tell by that, then I'm not sure if I want them to post anyway. Anyone who's curious about the show won't care about the Derpy reference, and anyone who's hip to the show will know it. Dear Lord…

I love backstory, but like Pyro said, it has to be done well. Otherwise, it can just be filler, and not many people like filler. However, DHX has done a good job with backstory and flashbacks (i.e., Cutie Mark Chronicles,) so I don't think it will be done extremely poorly nor will any such episode have a negative effect on the show. I think they'll refer to it (like Pinkie Sense and other bits of continuity,) so yeah. Let's see some more of it.

It seemed sort of lazy but I suppose since Pinkie is friends with everyone in Ponyville the chances that she's seen the other diary are pretty high.

I didn't find it sad at all. It takes a lot trying to make me sad.
