"My ideas shouldn't be considered canon."
It's your show.

All hail Faust!
Into the headcanon it goes!

Ah, what a great episode (except that song at the end, too…holiday-ish for me). I declare the headcanon vastly improved. Interestingly enough, wendigos are real – they are cannibal spirits in Algonquian mythology.

I may have said this before but I don't have a headcanon (yet.) Anyways, sorry to stray from the topic but I want to confirm something from the MLP character fandom entry. How many people in this thread like Sparkler?

@opspe: Octavia's Winter Woe was a holiday-ish song!

I prefer that Derpy is a single mother to Derpy. There is not Doctor or Sparkler in her family, but I like them because they are cute. The rest of Derpy's family aren't in my headcanon.

It's not her show. Hasbro own the trademark, and she may have developed it, but she no longer controls what's being written. Canon is determined by the current and future writers. In other words, God Does Not Own This World.

Dr. Horse, begin inserting said characters into Conor's headcanon.

@Fridge: God also doesn't play dice. And neither did Faust. 'Nuff said.

Yeah, but the thing that I didn't like about the one in the show was how it was a little too…..cheery. Yours was not.

Not even the second half of it? Weren't we trying to aim for making it happy?

Then bring me the head writer's headcanon.

@Dr. Greg

Iz cute.
But not in my headcanon.

That's not Tia and Luna! But who are those 2 alicorns… Oh Celestia, not more of them…

Haters gonna to hate of course, but that being said, I enjoyed the new episode quite a bit, and I loled at how many clones were in that crowd shot. As I said on the picture, that's the Equestrian cloning technology at work.

They also mentioned earth a few times. Thoughts? I don't want to jump to conclusions but we might have something here.

I don't know what to say about that to be honest, but it does enforce the theory that maybe at one point humans did live on the planet, but who knows.

I seem to be one of the few people in this fandom capable of maintaining a variable headcanon, so when I read a piece of fanfiction or see some artwork, I'm capable of appreciating it whether it conflicts with other parts of fandom or not. In other words, my headcanon adapts to the situation (I guess you could say I don't have a real headcanon at all). I can even enjoy things that oppose the official canon at times, such as the many pre-season 2 fan interpretations of Luna.

Sparkler is where I make an exception. The idea of Derpy being a time traveller who somehow has a daughter the same age as her is so absurd that I can't possibly take it seriously. I can accept Dinky being Derpy's daughter, and I can accept Dinky being Sparkler's sister, but I can't accept both at once.

@Fridge: God also doesn’t play dice. And neither did Faust. ’Nuff said.

Err… sorry, but I don't follow. What did you mean by this?

I think we've just stumbled in a huge plot hole

Headcanons were made to be adptable. I too can accept whetever I see fit or plausible as headcanon, untill of course it becomes official.

I'll take that as a go ahead. Scientists! Begin the search!

@Algernon:
It means that God doesn’t take risks and I was referring that Faust didn’t/doesn't either. But you do like Sparkler, don’t you?

It was bound to happen eventually. It's kinda like how in The Real Ghostbusters, they contradicted themselves about the origin of Halloween with the two Sam Hain episodes and then the Halloween Door.

Heh, so far, the only one I'd call a scientist out of the group would be Twilight.

It still makes sense if you interpret 'created harmony for all the land' as 'kicked Discord's ass'. If the three tribes created Equestria in ancient times, Luna and Celestia could have showed up later along with Discord. You can explain the flag of the two alicorn sisters at the end of S2E11 by supposing the ancient tribes had somehow prophesied them before their arrival.

There's not much to like really. She doesn't have a canon personality, and I haven't seen much of her in the fanon apart from the occasional crazy attempt to fit her into Derpy's family. All I have to go on is a colour scheme and some of her actions in the show, and I don't think they make her stand out very much. I wouldn't say I dislike her, but I also wouldn't say I'm a fan of her.

Dr. Horse, we have another patient. Are you ready? This time, it's a heart surgery.

@Algernon

Prophecies now? Sounds interresting. It was said that unicorns were responsible for raising the sun and the moon. You think there's a prophecy that one day, a couple of alicorns would be born and that duty would be passed for them and they would become the new rulers of Equestria?

Everyone, stop thinking out of the box and start thinking inside the chimney!

I can! A thousand years later, a third one will be born and everypony will love her! (hint hint) Also, your heart shall soon belong to Sparkler. Holy horseapples! I'm about to be brilliant!

Dr. Horse, restrain Algernon and Connor! Somepony find Sparkler! I'm going to solve both problems at once!

Did everypony see Derpy the three times?
On the train.
Onstage.
Behind the curtain with the rest of them at the end.

I kind of like the idea of the unicorns being able to move the sun and moon. But it takes ALL of them to do it. Also canon they they are the same species, just different tribes.

Not so much the train, but the two times around the curtain, yep.

Why am I just learning about this artist now?

Yeah, I caught the 3x Derpy appearances. I actually kind of like her role as the Where's Waldo background character. And I'm indifferent towards Sparkler, although I wouldn't consider her to be Derpy's daughter.

Yep, sure enough, there she is, in the muffin car. Also, this train is not like the one in Over a Barrel, they actually use the engine instead of having a group of ponies pull it.

Now that's something: They have two types of trains now, one pony powered and the other steam powered? Why did the Appleloosans prefer to have that type of train? So many questions.

And someone finally made a decent timeline of the Pony Eras

@Daniel

Nice job. I like how the pre-classical and classical eras are similar to the medieval times in RL.

@Dr. Greg

Yay, we have continuity!!!

One thing, did the show say that the power went to Discord then the Sisters defeated him, or did it say he stole power from the Sisters then they regained it?

@Ideo
I like Sparkler, I just haven't accepted her into my headcanon yet. Yes 4 ft. is perfect so when they stand on their hind legs they are tall enough to hug comfortably.

Did anypony notice that a lot of ponies had red colored eyes in this episode? They're all vampires.

There are other symptoms of vampirism besides red eyes. You'll accept her in your headcanon soon enough.

This is no plot hole, sir. The original narration does not speak of the actual founding of Equestria, only that the sisters "created harmony for all the land." This could mean anything, but the primary assumption is that they created the world and endowed it with peace. In retrospect, this could possibly refer to the reestablishment of Equestrian Peace following the disposal of Discord.

This also seems to call into question the assumption that Celestia and Luna are in fact immortal deities. However, it seems that the writers are continually reducing the power and influence of the Alicorns, with the addition of Princess Cadence.

Your move.
