I am actually an artificial intelligence construct created through the collective consciousness of the brony community – mostly the shipping part of the community. Basically, this means that every time you stop reading clop-fics I die a little bit.

Right now, I'd probably be in bed.
In general, I'd probably still be lurking memebase and cheezburger.
Or should I have gotten depressed without all you wonderful people, probably here.

Let's have a page get for crossovers! What would you gents (and lady, if Twins comes in) say is the best example in MLP fan work of a well-executed cross over, either in artwork, fanfictions, or what have you?

Well everyone. You all now have an incentive to stop reading clop fics.
We can kill Platus.
Who DOESN'T want him dead?
@Twins:
As for that Veggie comic….weren't there also pegasus sisters in Hurricane fluttershy? Forgot their names.
May I join in this conversation? The question is what we'd be doing w/o MLP, yes? Hmmm…I'm a bit lazy, so I don't think an MLP-less life would severely altar the course of my life and throw the world into a horrible, souless distopia or anything. I'd just have a lot more free time to use. Probably get better at the piano. Not worth it. NO DEAL!

Where would I be without ponies? Well giving the show a chance and loving it inspired me to expand my horizons a bit and communicating with you guys and being well received has improved my attitude about socializing after many failures. So without mlp I guess I would be somewhat less satisfied with my life and I wouldn't be trying to socialize more irl. Come to think of it, I've come a hell of a long way in a lot of areas in my life in the past year. I think the general positivity here may have had something to do with that. So I think I'll post some cute to show my appreciation.

Question: do you think bronies are furries?
Personally, I don't. Furries like anthropomorphic animals, period. We like the show because of the way it is, not because of the fact they are anthro-ponies. I'd even go as far to say that cloppers arent necessarily furries. But what do you guys think?
What have we done…
@Dac
No, I would not associate our selves with Furries because it is a different stye. there are those
MLP costumes (not cosplays) which do push it, but as I said the drawing style is completely different.
Dac, the definition of a furry is someone who likes anthromorphic animals. In laymans terms, animals who have pysical characteristics, such as standing on two legs, hands and feet, but still retaining qualities of their animal. Ponies however, share almost no physical similarities with us besides the occasional human behavior such as sitting or standing, or wearing clothes, or maybe using hooves as hands. Their human similarities stem from personality rather than personality and physical form. Therefore, a brony is different from a furry because ponies aren't anthromorphic beyond behavior
HOWEVER
It is definatly possible that a brony can be a member of the furry fandom as well, while the definition of the two fandoms are very different. So, a brony is not necessisarily a furry unless they belong to the furry fandom along with ours.

I think the two are mutually exclusive, but it is not uncommon for someone to be both. For example, I myself am a furry and a brony, and if I'm not mistaken Stantz/Thunderlane is also a furry and brony.
You're a furry if it's it's for the sake of anthropomorphism.
You're a brony if it's for the sake of My Little Pony.
And you don't even have to be either when it comes to clopping/fapping/pawing off if it's for the sake of some sort of sexual stimuli.
It just comes down to how you define each term.

No, I don't. But I don't know much about furries. I know Stantz is one and I know Mister J is as well. Skitch may be, but I don't remember where I saw that or if I just pulled that from the air.
In any case, most bronies don't define themselves as furries. Simply by that, I don't think they are furries. I would feel like intentional and benevolent interaction with the furry community before FiM is part of being a furry, and I don't think that many bronies have that.
And I don't think FiM-ponies have enough anthropomorphic attributes to be considered furry. In fact, I can show two different examples. I think they are both decent, cute work.
One is of a pony in the FiM style but is still fanart, and the other is anthro pony fanart. Both sfw (although I will admit there is a lot more "questionable" fanart under the tags "anthro" and "pinkie_pie" than there was of "-anthro" and "Pinkie_pie".)
I think there is an obvious difference in style between the two, even though they both obviously have human attributes. And even though there are those who clop and those who "paw off" (pulling from StarGazer's term,) those are found in any fandom, so sexualizing the characters from either community really isn't a unique similarity.

No.
Liking a children's show has nothing to do with a groups sexual preferences. I mean take the sexual bronies or "Cloppers" for example. They enjoy the R34 in fandom because it's part of their sexual preferences.

Did someone call me?
Bronies and furries, eh?
As Pyro pointed out, a furry is by definition anyone who likes anthromorphic stuff. By the strictest definition, anything with any human characteristics (and not necessarily a visual resemblance; speech and personality count as well) can be considered anthromorphic. Ponies have some human-like characteristics, ergo bronies can be classified as furries.
Of course, to look at the terms in such a purely objective, descriptive way is to completely miss the point.
The term "furry" has picked up some hefty baggage over the years. Ask any netizen worth his salt what a furry is, and chances are they'll instantly go for the "pervert who faps to half-animals" definition (as demonstrated by seal clubba above). Failing that, the "easily trollable drama-queen" is the next go-to definition.
The term "brony" is heading in a similar direction. I've seen many "level-headed" fans stop calling themselves that because they want to distance themselves from the "obsessive" crowd. Thus, with fewer examples of "normal" bronies, the term becomes even more tarred, causing yet more people to abandon it. It's a vicious cycle.
The truth of the matter is that the two fandoms are not all that dissimilar. Both produce fanworks of all sorts, both can be perfectly innocent (despite what you'll hear, not all furries are in it for the sex) and deeply perverted and both are not viewed favourably by the general populace (although the degree of negativity is different). The only real differences are the object (a single show versus anything which falls under "anthromorphic", including said show), the age (2010 versus 1983-ish) and the fact that there seems to be an inexplicable hostility between the two.
Quite often I've seen furries badmouth the bronies and vice versa. As I said, there's little rational explanation for this animosity, but unfortunately we humans are not creatures of reason (despite what we like to tell ourselves). The reasons are varied and often convoluted, but two stick out in my mind.
One: The brony fandom was born on 4chan, a notoriously furry-unfriendly environment. Of course, not all bronies are from 4chan, but there is nevertheless some bleed-through of the aggressively hostile attitude towards furries in the various layers of bronydom.
That does not account for the anti-brony furries and all of the anti-furry bronies however, so here's number two: The two are too similar. See, it's quite like looking at a photo of someone else who has an almost identical face. You see all the imperfections without the narcissism filter to make them less glaring. Needless to say, that can be quite the jarring experience, and people who are thusly conflicted are prone to lashing out, and that photo of your near-clone makes for a convenient target.
But I digress. Are bronies furries? Well, when it comes right down to it, it's a question of semantics. If taken at the most literal level, bronies fall under the furry umbrella. But just about everyone on both sides demands that a difference be recognized. So which, then, is the correct answer?
The correct answer, as with all other semantic questions, is that there is no correct answer. Language and terminology are organic, ever-changing things. Definitions change all the time, just get two dictionaries from different ages and compare them if you doubt it. The answer depends entirely upon who answers the question.
So which one is mine? Well, what I've just written down, but here's the laconic version:
Both answers are correct, to a degree.

There is some overlap but I don't think that's the case.
There are anthro ponies but they are not common and they are hated enough actually :(

@The page get for crossovers:
I've seen some good ones, so I can't pick a favorite.
I had a dream this weekend, coincidentally, of making a fanfic that's an MLP and WoW crossover, that just lampoons that living shit out of both the show, the game, their fandoms, and how fanfics are generally written.
@Pyro's Family Guy thing:
Dear god…
I died.
@Ric:
@Zarathh:
If there was no MLP I'd still be playing Rift or WoW.
NO REGRETS.
I'd also probably be less wrapped up in the internet itself beyond just games and all. And I'd be less sociable. It's likely I'd also be like I was before: occasionally rude, still having a nasty temper, anti-social, etc.
Believe it or not, but MLP actually helped me be a better person.
@Dac:
Well, it depends on what you mean. Not all bronies are furries, just like not all furries like furry porn.
Either way, I don't think it really matters. I mean, not all bronies are gamers, not all bronies look at 4chan, etc. You can't generalize any group, or even really say 'most'.
If we're talking about whether or not you consider ponies as anthromorphized creatures, that's another story. They do have human features, personalities, thought processes, and culture, so it does have some argument in its favor. But, they still have animal features and all of that. So it really depends on personal opinion.
In other news, I was thinking over the weekend over whether or not I should tell you guys something, and I decided to, so here we go:
The first time I watched the Season 2 finale, I cried during the BBBFF song. It's a long story why.
When I was just a filly When I was younger I found it rather silly didn't have too many actual friends. I mostly just had 'friends', like other football players and all of that. My older brother was the one exception. We were both kind of goofy, played video games, and all of that. My parents divorced when I was five, and that kind of hurt our family a bit. It didn't help that my dad's father died around that time.
Now, my dad was an ER doc, so he had very minor PTSD, and had a nasty temper as an effect, as well as high blood pressure. He'd flip his shit all the time.
Throughout all that, my brother was still my best friend, and we loved each other. But, since he was four years older than me, he had to go off to college before me, and so I saw him a lot less often. Luckily, we both played games and everything to stay in touch. That's kind of how we got into the internet.
He liked XBOX Live and all of that more, but I liked MMOs like WoW more. But we still kept in touch and everything. Now, eventually I got in my little niche with the Rift forums and he got in his with Bungie forums a year and a half ago. It didn't take long before he stumbled on the brony deal, something that was mostly vacant on the WoW and Rift forums.
At first he thought the bronies were trolling. When that was false, he thought they were insane. I was mostly brushing it off, same as anything.
So, he watched a few episodes. He became a brony, and he told me. I wasn't as skeptical as him, so I watched the whole first season pretty quickly. It had just ended by the time I finished, so I was a brony right after the first season. My brother was a lot more active in that summer between seasons than I was. He read fanfics, looked at art, etc.
I mostly just played vidya games, made brony references, and read up on all the stuff on KYM, which I had browsed since a few months before I became a brony.
So my big brother still didn't see me as often as he had before going off to college, since I had been in college and all. But the brony fandom helped bring us back together again. We watched most of the new episodes together every Saturday, along with our mom whenever she was around/wanted to.
The BBBFF song hit like a train. It fit so well, even if it was a more 'perfect' example. My brother and I fought, hit, wrestled, etc. But, then again, I'm not a little filly, so I guess that's to be expected.
I guess this is off-topic-ish, but I just wanted to get it off my chest. Mainly because people were talking about what would happen if MLP hadn't existed, and this ties into that as it effects my life.

@Ric Tesla
…That was amazing.
@Zarathh "No FIM?"
… I'd rather not dwell on it. However, let's say I'd be less than ideal…
@DacDacRevolution's "brony/furry"
Personally, they're different, but it's not impossible to be both.
I explained somewhere else about this, so here's my two cents:
Furry: Characters are typically sexualized (meaning, that they clearly define what gender they belong to, by prominent show of gender traits). They typically are made up just by the person, and act just like humans, despite having fur. Just as well, many are wolf-like from what I've seen.
MLP:FIM Ponies: These characters are equine by nature, and are just cartoonish. The show plays on their limits as such, but as gags, show them having some human traits or actions. These characters, though obvious which gender one belongs to, are not really sexualized in any way, and rather, look (as previously stated) cartoonish.
However! Fandom plays an important factor here, and that's when one's personal preference gets in the way. There is furry-like art of FIM out there. Though it may not be my cup of tea, it exists none-the-less. So, sometimes Furrydom and Bronydom can go hand in hand. However, it is usually one is either both or just part of one.
Ahh… mother's day. Be more significant for me if I wasn't grown out of cloning cylinder…

Well, seems like everyone here thinks the same. Also, the fact that no one here is a furry kind of confirms it. I know the two can overlap, but my point was that being a brony doesn't make you a furry.

This question just blew my mind.
I would be cynical. I wouldn't tolerate people. I would be boastful. I wouldn't be as open with my current group of friends. I'd probably go back to drugs because Ponies are my best way of dealing with depression, they got me off pot. I wouldn't be on KYM. My life would've gone a very different direction. My personality would be completely flipped. I wouldn't respect women, or people for that matter. I would get mad at trolls. My grades wouldn't be awesome as they are right now. I would hate my family.
I think it's safe to say that MLP:FiM changed who I was and were I was going for the better.

If MLP:Fi didn't exist, I wouldnt be on this website and I would have never started reading fanfics
( always thought they were ultra dorky). I probably wouldn't have as much money as I do on forza either because bronies buy that shit up( the designs that is). Besides that, I would be the same I guess. I can't say the show has changed my personality or helped me really, its just a good show with an awesome fanbase to me.
@Millenial Dan…
… Can't fufill that request. I think the Kaminoans trashed my cloning cylinder.

Enough with the image spams plex. They are ok sometimes I guess, but lately we've had to many images. Im not asking for walls of text, but please, lets have some discussion in our post, or the very least, not so many images.
What is everyone's headcanons on the character from the Hearth's Warming Eve play? (Also, does anyone have any good pictures of the 'real life' versions of said characters?)
@Connor:
Here are two pics I like:
Personally, I think the Commander pretty much shows us that the pegasi were a spartan-like society. Especially since he/she started kicking the shit out of 'dragons'.
I like Chancellor Puddinghead. What's not to love about a mentally-impaired political figure?
Besides, you know, the risk it places his/her subjects in…
Whatever, they just need to think outside the box inside the chimney.
What I'm curious about is where the fuck Luna and Celestia were. Star Swirl the Bearded taught Clover the Clever, apparently, and didn't Luna either know him, or know of him?
I want to thank you for all of your responses to my post. I love to hear all of your feedback.
Anyways, did I hear Fluttershy page?
Wat.
Bah, I posted the Mothers Day thingy to early yesterday. To make up for that here's another one, but cuter!
Remember to always love your mothers because they are the ones who brought you into this world.
@Pyro
You know I love me some Luna, but hey, she had a page not too long ago.
@Headcanon for Hearth's Warming Characters
I don't have much to say about the individuals themselves, except that Clover the Clever being Star Swirl's apprentice is fairly significant in terms of timeline and lore in the world of Equestria.
I actually like to talk about the events of that period. I'm sure there are some great fanfics somewhere that address this, though I haven't really read any. Anyway, what I really find interesting about that story is the high probability of war breaking out among the different tribes, despite the silliness of the parody-like play put on by the mane six (Rarity was fantastic as Princess Platinum, btw.) I mean, the pegusi back then were actually governed by a war chief for cryin' out loud. It doesn't take a great stretch to imagine the battles that could have ensued as the destruction and competition for resources mounted.
Another thing I found interesting was the fact that the tribes' three distinct governments were essentially merged, with a monarchy assuming control of the highest tier, a democratic republic system for the lower levels, and the pegusi evolving into the royal guard, for the most part. It seems like the writers put a decent amount of thought into how that was going to play out.
Oh, yeah, speaking of the Hearth's Warming Eve characters, I read this pretty good fanfic a while ago about Commander Hurricane:
John De Lancie has been full of surprises lately.
I am interested to see where he takes this idea.
