Something I just realized a few moments ago.

1. Absolutely no pornographic or gore material on the site. This includes, but is not limited to, the forums, image uploads, and comments on: meme entries, profiles, images, and any other communication mediums on the site.

So I'll ask you to stop posting that type of images or face the consequenses.

We are getting a bit too worked up about this Rule 34 subject. I mean, it hasn't happened yet (though its inevitable it will). So lets cross that bridge when its built.

In other news, I have decided to take the MLP/Red Dawn pitch and turn it into a four-fic saga about the same 3 month war. All four stories are set in an Equestria where Nightmare Moon resisted the Elements of Harmony and succeeded in defaming Celestia to gain enough support and break off her own nation from Celestia's. No, its not going to be a republic (I wouldn't think someone like Luna would be a supporter of Democracy anyway), its an effective Empire.

Here's the titles (all titles are just about final, and all stories are in the works), and a bried description of each-

Sunset- Celestia looks back painfully on her failure to stop the rise of Nightmare Moon and the split of Equestria, and after five years of no conflict, hopes that one day, the two nations will reconcile and join together as one again. But it is not to be…

Lunar Dawn- Nine friends (and a few sibilings) must rely on their friendship for survival as a long-feared enemy invades their homeland…

Wings over Equestria- a prequel leading up to "Lunar Dawn". Lt. Col. "Soarin'" experiences the change as the Wonderbolts go from show-performing pegasi to experimental test pilots for the newest additions to Celestia's arsenal…

Revenge- After 3 brutal months of conflict, both sides open up to negotiations in Canterlot. However, peace is threatened by Celestia's captain of the guard, Shining Armor, who had lost his beloved wife Cadence to a Luna-supporter before the war and now has learned of the fate of his sister, Twilight Sparkle. Now the race is on to determine whether the hard truth of Twiight's fate be revealed to Shining Armor before he does anything critical, or if he is to be spared of any more loss again…

Anyway, was anyone else thinking this during that scene?

actually, no, but its interesting you bring that up. I noticed in the facebook comment for that .gif, somebody pointed out all the Deathly Hallows part 2 references during the episode.

Alright, alright. I went back and watched the finale again. It's better than most episodes, but I'm not sure if it would make any top 10 for me. However, I think it's most certainly one of the most satisfying, if not the most satisfying when the end came.

And the animation was absolutely gorgeous. I don't know if DHX could outdo themselves, but they don't even need to try in my eyes. I don't think I could be impressed any more with that. I think they may be approaching the best that they can do given the style, their intentions, their technology, and their imagination. I don't know much about the last three (intentions, technology, and their imagination,) and I think the imagination could whip out some more episodes and scenes that wow me, but I really think they're doing a great job.

I could go into what else I was impressed with, but maybe later.

I've never done art on a PC before, but I've thought of a few for the whole fic project I'm doing, and I want to know if there's a free art program I can use.

Your right, I guess they do look similar. Still I didnt make the conection because even though they look similar in some ways, in the song the queen chrysalis was embracing the evil she is about to commit, while frollo was trying to convince himself and God that his lust for Esmeralda was her fault and that he was trying to save the seductress from eternal damnation even though deep down he knew what he had been doing the whole time was evil. It actually reminds me more of "be prepared". The green fire, the villains singing about their plots, and they both have an army of sickly looking creatures( even though you don't see the queens till later)
I overanalyze Disney movies, sorry.
By the way, I love that movie and all the other Disney movies from the 90s. I really wish they would go back to making movies like that.

I want to know if there’s a free art program I can use.

I just use Inkscape and GIMP for all my drawing. You can find examples of what I can do with it in my profile image gallery.

But most people use the free online version of Photoshop. And of course there is the built in hardware of Deviant Art but I don't know how powerful that is compared to a stand-alone art program.

I assume you've seen 'Princess and the Frog', that movie was such a throwback to Disney in it's prime. Complete with badass villain with an even more badass villain song.

So here's a puzzler, if Scratch's eyes aren't red then why would they show them in the first place? Her appearance was pure fanservice anyway and they didn't need to create the extra assets in order to show her eyes.

Besides, I don't even get what the fuss is about, they look pretty red to me.

On the topic of Vinyl's eye colour:

This will probably sound crazy to most of you, so make sure you're holding on to something secure. It's just a precaution to avoid injuring yourself when you're inevitably blown away from the sheer insanity of what I'm about to say:

I actually like her eyes this way. I might even prefer them to her fanon red eyes.

After I saw Epic Wub Time (which is amazing btw), I realised that magenta eyes sorta work better. Her neon blue mane clashes with the red of her eyes quite severely, and magenta looks a bit more natural. Also, as Pyro pointed out to me, red eyes don't really fit with the rest of the show. Have you seen any other ponies with red eyes? Generally, red eyes are perceived to be a bit spooky or evil, and those aren't words typically associated with pastel coloured ponies.

Also, just look at her in that gif! She looks just as badass with magenta eyes, so I really hope the fandom adapts to depict her in this way in the future.

Once again, I think it's safe to say that this flash file version from the Royal Canterlot Wedding website is the canonical coloring. Naturally, I got this from EqD.

I bet most artists will start using this as her eye color from now on. I don't know about you guys, but discussions like this don't bother me at all. It's through discussion that we narrow down the facts, after all.

I guess we could always say she was wearing eye color contacts. I think that would solve all the discrepancies between the canon and the pre-canon fanon all nice and neat like.

Am I the only one who thinks it's really silly how the finallie was amazing and people are still trying to determine weather hasbro sent yet another shout out our way? I'm not even talking about you guys talking about it, I mean the internet in general. I understand why them being red would be kinda significant to the fandom, but open photoshop or whatever and take your eyedropper to that shit. The reddest they get on a RGB scale is something like R151 G20 B50 in the "color corrected" version, which is much too dark and blended (not to mention magenta) to be the color of red people are thinking they're seeing in it.

And yes yes, I know.

I's just that this was the epic, moving, 44 minute long season finale we're talking about here and the attention of a lot of people out there (again, I'm not even talking about you guys) seems to be on that 1 second in which she showed her eyes. I think that's ridiculous. That's all I really wanted to say, as butthurt as it is.
