Since I'm a slowpoke, I just finished the finale episode…
HOLY SHIT! 90% TWILIGHT SPRAKLE SCREEN TIME YESSSS!

Also, badass nether-world changelings made my day.

Scratch (lol, pun) my previous post, I have figured it out.

Her true eye color is obviously Yellow!

Here's the .fla file with the glasses removed.

Magenta or Purple

But not Red!

Since OmniXVII mentions Twilight, figured it'd make a good comparison. This girl's eyes are purple:

I too agree that magenta probably jives better with the show's overall color matching. As Unknown said, close enough.

I've updated the article with the information. I went with a combination of magenta and purple. If this is incorrect, go blame canon.

Just to throw in my two bits about Vinyl's eye colour:
I don't really care. If I were to ever specify a colour in a story or something, I would use red because I like it more and it's more interesting.
But it doesn't really matter; just personal preference.

I read something where someone suggested denying the canon-ness of the eye colour, somewhat like with Lyra's name.

And with the Chrysalis R34. Pics or it didn't happen.

I for one do not care for our DJ's eye color.

@The last part.

Post the pics, and shits will be flipped.

I warned you man.

I warned you about posting r34, man.

Regarding R34…

@Twins: Yeah, I think Fancypants would get all the mares.

Of course, I seem to find people think that he and Fleur de Lis are in a relationship. Which is fine by me, because I tend to favor Rarity not being evil enough to destroy Spike.

Mainly because of this comic:

It is ridiculously bittersweet.

It made me tear up slightly at the end. It is pretty much perfect in almost every way.

I mean, that artist made a better love story in a few dozen panels than Twilight did in four books.

I was reminded at first of the Big Bang Theory, when Sheldon says he's not crazy, and his mom had him tested

Then I thought about Black Ops…

Mother: THE NUMBERS TWILIGHT, WHAT DO THEY MEAN?

Twilight: I don't know what you're talking about!

Mother: WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF BUCKING TIME TWILGIHT! EQUESTRIA IS ON THE BUCKING BRINK OF WAR!

Twilight: Who's war? What the buck are you talking about?

Mother: The numbers, Twilight. They're a broadcast…

@SomePlanet

Perhaps we should discuss Equestria's reliance on imports from Saddle Arabia, and the disturbing political implications of such trade. Saddle Arabia's popularity as a tourist destination belies the true injustice taking place in its slums; unfortunately, very few ponies are aware of this fact. The Saddle Princes' domination of natural resources is causing undue strain on their lower class citizens, and a heated moral question exists as to whether international pressure on their government is warranted.

Queen Chrysalis, walking the fine line between adorable and disgusting.

I think Chrysalis is what we call a cute monster girl who is the same vein as Ctenophorae of tumblr and Filia of Skullgirls.

All of them are radically different than the standard form of their worlds and all can be considered somewhat disgusting/monstrous but are still adorable, something which I like to call "adorably gross."

Fuck all you imperialist oreintlists and your judging of our culture! YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND!

And for the last time, our glue is made with oil, we don't throw criminals into glue vats or whatever silly conspiracy your gossip columns come up with.

Fuckin' rad, man.

So, is The Living Tombstone just dubstep with pony based titles? Because that video was the first time I'd heard any Brony music.

Actual I think doing it to criminals that are ready for execution is a good idea, just throw the body in the machine after the criminal had his/her lethal injection, and proven dead before being thrown into said machine.

I wouldn't say dubstep, he mostly focuses on techno.

Oh my Fucking Celestia.

THERE'S MOAAAAAAAAR!!!!

As both an audiophile and a brony, I feel conflicted at loving this, as it's basically a Katy Perry song in a pony costume. However, the title is really good, and Twilight Sparkle sings it, so fuck all that I love this.

Can we get much higher?

So when the royalty got married, they put the rings on their horns.

So I wondered, where do they put the rings for an earth pony or a pegasus?

O.o

Dang it, I know I saw an earth pony in the show with a wedding band on one leg, but I can't remember which episode it was.

I'm going to figure that rings are a unicorn-exclusive custom. It's the cleanest option.

Necklaces or bracelets.

Or, like some cultures, they could use things other than jewelry. For example, the forehead-bead.

Bracelet. And it's not a big deal that it'd be slightly inconvenient, as they're purely for the actual ceremony anyway, from the looks of things. They probably just display them somewhere afterward.

In their private areas.

I think this topic has come up a few times in the past, but we haven't said much about it recently. We've discussed Vinyl's eyes, the awesomeness that is Chrysalis, Luna's random disappearance and reappearance as if nothing had happened, moar Chrysalis, the new songs, and finally, the epic greatness of Chrysalis (damn she's cool…), but we haven't talked much about Cadance.

We're all pretty familiar with these two:

Some consider them to be Goddesses, and others see them as Demi-Goddesses. They're definitely unique in Equestria, having both horns and wings, along with immense magical powers and a very long (if not infinite) lifespan. It would also seem that Equestria itself relies on their presence to function properly.

So where does Cadance fit into this?

She's also a princess, and also has the rare trait of having both a horn and wings. However, as far as we know, she's not related to either Celestia or Luna, and she's nowhere near as powerful. We saw her looking after Twilight as a filly, and she definitely looked younger, so it's fair to say that she hasn't been around for as long as them either. She also doesn't seem to be tied to Equestria in any way.

So what gives? Is she actually a Goddess? If not, how do non-Goddess alicorns fit into Equestria? How did she end up being a part of royalty?

Discuss. That is, if you wouldn't mind…

[If you want to reply to this, please don't quote it! @Algernon would be sufficient, or you could just answer the topic without specifying what you're responding to.]

Edit: Apparently she actually is related to Celestia and Luna, since she's Celestia's niece. I wasn't aware of that for some reason. (thanks to Unknown Unknown and Explosive Lasers for pointing that out)

I was just thinking

Considering Cadence is Celestia's niece, and an alicorn, that means she most likely has a ridiculous lifespan and ages slower than most
And Celestia, despite being over a thousand years old, still looks pretty fresh. Cadence looks younger too, meaning she's a couple hundred years old

Wait….

IF CADENCE IS A COUPLE HUNDRED YEARS OLD, AND SHINING ARMOR IS PROBABLY A FEW YEARS OLDER THAN TWILIGHT SPARKLE…
DOESN'T THAT MAKE CADENCE A COUGAR?

@Algy:

Cadence is Celestia's niece. Prince Blueblood is her nephew. Neither of these two are immortal, or old enough to have been Luna's children. So, it's safe to assume Celestia has many cousins or other relatives.

It is likely they were alicorns, as well, back in time. But, due to breeding with other races, not all of them are, currently. So, while cases like Cadence remain, there are not many alicorns.

She's still related to royalty, so she is technically a princess. And since she doesn't serve on a council, rule over any land (as far as we have seen), or have any other political duties, she can't be a Chancellor, Duchess, Countess, etc.

So, she's just loosely related to Celestia and Luna, and just so happens to be an alicorn.

And before you call BS, on account of her being a foal-sitter and princess, there have been accounts of princesses having mundane jobs. Such as being school teachers and all that.

Edit: @Unkown: There is nothing stating all alicorns are immortal. Luna and Celestia are immortal because A)The Elements of Harmony and B)they're demigods. Cadence has no relation to the Elements and isn't a god, so she is just a mortal alicorn.

I think that it’s clear that goddesses are alicorns, but alicorns aren’t necessarily goddesses. But going so far as to say that Celestia and Luna are goddesses in the truest sense of that word is maybe a bit much for me.

Throughout antiquity, men have been invoking divine right to cement their rule over their subjects; they are God-Kings or Divine Kings – that is to say, they have an imperial cult. Such things have been observed from Ancient Egypt to Ancient China to the Maya and the Inca. Leaders build cults around themselves, claiming to be actual deities or the vessel for the gods on Earth.

In Equestria, Celestia and Luna are revered as goddesses, and they are extremely powerful, but I don’t think that they are goddesses any more than a pharaoh was. While they can do things like move the sun, that isn’t necessarily god-tier in the same way that creating the universe would be, especially considering that magic exists in Equestria; there was bound to be someone powerful enough to do these things at some point. Saying that Celestia rules through divine right or a divine mandate doesn’t fit with the show at all. So I generally don’t consider Celestia and Luna to be true goddesses; they may have an imperial cult, and to the citizens of Equestria they may seem to be goddesses, but I don’t really buy it.

Then comes Cadence. (I refuse to spell it Cadance. Because that’s stupid.) She is clearly not as powerful as Celestia and Luna, and although she is called a princess as well, and may be related to them somehow, it seems that she is a few rungs down on the ladder of succession. So regardless of whether or not Celestia and Luna are goddesses, it should be clear that Cadence is not.

And like I said, within the context of the show, all ‘goddesses’ are alicorns, but all alicorns aren’t necessarily ‘goddesses.’

In response to Lasers:

I don't think immortality necessarily indicates goddessship; it just indicates extremely powerful magic. And who knows, maybe Celestia and Luna truly believe that they are goddesses, especially if the imperial cult predates them, but I've argued that they are not.
