So……How was that Premiure? (I've seen it, I just wanted to know how others feel towards it)

I'm guessing they could have changed around Nightmare Night…

That would make quite a bit of sense giving the events of Luna Eclipsed.

Well, that premiere was pretty awesome. As Jimmy said, it was nice that they brought back things from the past.
But bloody hell, that amount of commercial breaks.

It's been so long since I woke up early for the sole purpose of pony; it feels right.

I liked the part with the ponies. I also have to admit that I was desperately looking for a moment that would cause the next shitstorm, needless to say I think that last 5 seconds probably rustled the jimmies of the "TWILIGHT SPARKLE IS A MARY SUE SO SHE SUCKS" folks. Also, it's nice to see Pinkie Pie's antics be funny again and not annoying like the last few episodes of Season 3.

So it looks like Everfree Radio did end up getting the episodes a few days early. If you guys haven't kept up with that, they basically spoiled the entire thing by releasing the review (read: entire plot) a few days early. Funny thing is, The Hub and Hasbro both acknowledged that they never gave Everfree a preshowing. I wonder if this is going to affect the relationship between them (probably not).

This show has too many fake outs, BTW.

Princess Celestia dead? 5 seconds later, she gets up.
The crocodile-thingy about to attack the Mane 6? 5 seconds later, they stopped him without even trying.
The weird plant thingies capturing Twilight? 5 seconds later, they're gone.

And of course people think it's the greatest episode ever. Downvote me if you want, but this was a weak premiere. It felt like nothing happened the entire time.

They did only get about 22 minutes for each episodes, so of course not everything gets super long and detailed.
That said, Discord was awesome in the episodes.

Those fake-outs are kinda annoying, Granted the Princess Celestia one, we already knew it was the past. So it wasn't really a "Fake-out" I don't beleive its the greatest episode, but its definitely a huge impression for season 4, and definitely a calmer down, after seeing the lowest as it got (EQG).

Giving that the synopsis for ep 3 speficallay mentions Celestia, I think most people realized she was going to live.

And everyone has their opinions on everything.

Also, they had to make room for the bajillion commercials. Way, way to many commercial breaks if you ask me.

I am with you on that, I have been up for a solid 20 hours now. Must… sleep…

I will say that Meghan was right (in my opinion) in that the season 3 finale and this premier feel like one 3-part story arc (… with a 9 month break in the middle). The changes to the theme song were excellent (as mentioned earlier), the characters were as great as ever, my eyes were watering at the sight of the amazing animation, a ton of Princess Twilight related issues regarding where this responsibility would take her were addressed (although not completely fleshed out… yet), the continuity nods were awesome without feeling like pandering (I never really felt the show pandered to begin with, but still), the hinting at a continuing storyline, and DAT MYTHOLOGY.

Needless to say, this premier rocked my non-existent balls and was 1000X better than the Crystal Empire (although I did like that arc too)

I am eagerly looking forward to the oncoming season.

After that awesome two episodes I think people will be more able to accept alicorn Twilight due to the fact that Twilight seem to be connected to the tree of harmony or something (her cutie mark matches the one on the tree)

Would be nice, though I still get we're going to hear rustled jimmies over Alicorn Twilight for long to come, but that's just my guess.

One thing I can say about this Premiure compared to the 3rd Season Premiure, It didn't spark another forced joke like "Gak"

You know, when you think about it Gak was kinda the definition of a meme. Something that just came up from nothing and became a huge sensation….for a day. But still, in that one day Gak was something, it was the next Arrow to the Knee except it just died faster. If it would've lasted longer I could've seen it getting confirmed, but it didn't so thank god it didn't get confirmed.

Ahh, now comes the worst part of the Season Premiere of Pony, waiting a week for the next episode. At least it's not 9 Whole goddamn months.

@Waiting A Week For Episodes: Actually, has anyone else here felt weeks have felt like they've been going faster for a few months? It's weird, isn't it?

Also, I'm making PG sports teams, if anyone's interested in that.

Or better yet, during Season 2 where they made us wait a MONTH before we got Lesson Zero after the Return of Harmony. Then of course who can forget about the break they'll take in December. Then of course there'll be episodes where they make us wait two weeks for because…..who fucking knows, why did we seriously have to wait two weeks for 'Games Ponies Play' and then ANOTHER two weeks just for Magical Mystery Cure?

Edit: Oh, and after looking at all the airdates for Season 2's episodes we've had MANY times where we had to wait weeks for episodes. Scumbag Hub.

When it was a long wait, we grew complacent and perhaps slightly forgot what a new episode feels like.
Now that we've gotten a taste, we crave more!

we didn't make it all the way through season 2. the person I was mare-athoning with had had little sleep the last few days. fortunately, I have already seen all three seasons, so I got up and watched season four (on youtube. in low quality. because I couldn't get up in time for the live streams)

also, the hype train has successfully delivered us

I'll say more about the premiure until I get the HD version, and watch it again, and I will use a spoiler box to keep from spoiling unsuspecting watchers, and because Not alot of people care my opinion.

Also, I just want to talk about how I am sick of the amount of Deus Ex Machina going on in this show.

A perfect example is the crocodile scene. Writers, please just give us an actual fight scene for once, and not some cheap way of ruining the scene.

It's pretty clear that the tenor of the thread is more in "gushing over the premier" mode. If you just interject ever so often complaining about stuff, not only are you getting us off-topic, but you are also drawing attention from the show onto yourself ("I just want to talk about how I . . ." is a bad way to start a post, IMO).

If you want to talk about pony, great, but it would be great if you could avoid using the episode as a vehicle to attract attention.

…Damn, and I missed it, was busy putting up Christmas decorations all day…

As far as my questions on where to watch it, thanks for all the information anyway! Handy to know.
I was indeed talking about the S4 premier, as someone already linked me to copies of the S1/2/3 episodes on Dailymotion, far away from the YouTube police.
I'll probably check out the EQD-linked YouTube video of the premier later, either tonight or after I finally get around to watching the previously-listed "important" episodes of the previous seasons first. Which would you guys recommend? Should I just jump into this or do I need to get through the others first?

Important episodes first. This premiere had a LOT of continuity.
