Have you ever felt like you got around to certain things really late?

I legit didn't have a smartphone until very recently, mostly due to costs and priorities making me reluctant to get one, and thing is the smartphone I do have (an iPhone 7) was given to me secondhand so chances are were it not for that fact I probably still wouldn't have one. So you know that old Parry Grip song "I Got No iPhone" from like 2009? The song title was true for me for over a decade.

Legit unsure what's up with the two downvotes on my OP. I'm 100% serious, I never had a smartphone until just recently, and even then the phone in question is secondhand. What is it because I said it's an iPhone? Not like I had any choice in the matter. And it fits my topic name because smartphones have been around for a decade now and only now do I have one.

Want something else? Okay well I didn't see the Ghostbusters movies for the first time until 2009 when I was 19 years old, kinda surprised I never saw them earlier in my life despite being aware of their popularity (and seeing Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters as a kid).

I never finished Zelda: Breath of The Wild despite playing it in 2017, multiple times. I've always started a playthrough, and quit. I think it's because I went bazooka with the mods, since I was using an Emulator at sometime, I just loaded it up. Then I decided I'll just sit down and actually restart, playing the DLC and beating the game this year- how it was meant to be played. On the Switch.

Had a lot of fun, the trials made me feel accomplished despite it kicking my ass so many times. I actually rage-quitted so many times wanting to never play again.

I don't think I've ever got around watching Filthy Frank. I heard about him through my friends at school blasting his songs and referencing him. I didn't watch him at all and dismissed him as some dumb edgelord. After a couple of years, when I heard he quit Youtube I decided to finally watch some of his content.

Honestly, I actually enjoyed watching him. His whole edgelord shtick was the point of his character, and I can see why people enjoy him.

I have not kept much with trending shows on TV or stream services in the last decade outside of anime (which even that too is lately starting to burn me out) Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and whatever the hell is popular on Netflix, I have never seen them. I don't watch tv and I don't use any streaming sites so I'm always out the loop when people talk about most hit shows/programs. I've been binge watching old Simpsons and King of the Hill in all that time, I can quote both shows religiously now.

I am chronically late when it comes to anime and video games. Mainly due to money, laziness, keeping to habits and a bad PC. For instance, I am just starting to play Ori and the Blind Forest (which is really fun so far). I started two days ago. This actually bit me in the ass a bit because the Definitive edition was on sale for owners of the original but now it's not. Now I'll have to wait for a sale to get a similar price.

It's a really bad thing to be behind like that. Especially for multiplayer games(and even moreso with MMOs) since the population won't stick around forever.

I still haven't seen the disney star wars movies, despite being a huge star wars fan at one point. I'm not doing it out of some sort of dislike or spite (though now that the trilogy is finished and the general opinion of it is out I'm not sure if I should even bother), but just because it's not a high priority for me.

This year I started playing original Spyro trilogy on an emulator. I started watching original Star Wars. I started watching domestic series and movies too. What most of you did early, I started it late.

I never consumed some media, but were a fan of them. I didn't play Zelda, Mario, Sonic, Pokemon etc. until past few years, despite being a fan and doing fan stuff. I've never watched e.g. Doctor Who, yet I've put various references to it in stuff I make.

But I think it's not right being a fan of something you have not experienced how it is supposed to be.

My mother is Mormon, so there's a million classic movies that I've never seen just because they're rated R, and I have no movie streaming services because money is pretty tight.

I got into Silent Hill this year and it's been 5 years since Konami axed Silent Hills and started making pachinko machines instead.

I mean, at least there was the Dead by Daylight crossover this year.

I've never watched or read anything Harry Potter. I also did not and to this day, do not watch TV very often so I'm watching whatever shows I've heard about now as opposed to when they came out.

I also tend to be a bit of a penny-pincher, so I rarely play new games. I'd rather stick to my small hoard of 6th-generation ROMs instead, which I also didn't play most of when they originally came out.

I've played first two games and watched some movies, but have never read the books.

But I'm in the same situation regarding Lord of the Rings.
