favorite and least favorite meme?

Fav: Wojak. I know it's gotten a lot of hate these past few years with all its derivatives, but even so. There's just something special about it

Runner up is the ideal GF meme.

Least fav: Can't really think of anything right now that I hate.

There have been many times where a meme I once hated starts to grow on me. The coomer is one such example. It became amusing once people stopped using it to declare moral superiority and it became just a goofy character.

In terms of favorites, that's a hard one. I would like to say "it's hip to fuck bees" is my favorite, but I'm quite partial to the Zelda CDi characters and Grand Dad (I like the classics.) Big-tiddy goth gf is an honorable mention.
These ones also also great:

Least favorite is hard to say. There are tons of memes that annoy me. The soyjak is probably the one that takes the crown. Dishonorable mentions go to midwit and "who want they pussy ate."

Favorite tends to change due to the temporal nature of memes, but now it’s the “WHAT” (sanctuary boss music plays)

Least favorite is “Nothing:”

Honorable and dishonorable mentions to the aforementioned:

@OP IMO, horny jail is hit or miss. The internet tends to assume the worst, and that leads to stuff like confusing liking someone or something normally with arousal or a fetish.

@mr lake You’ve just chosen the right board

@xoxin Though I personally don’t like wojaks, I understand where the appeal comes from. Actually, that makes my opinion of the meme lower.

@koiman zx I feel the same way about the coomer man

@kenetic kups no one knew who I was until I took off the mask

I wasn't speaking of its derivatives, only the actual, original meme itself. I agree that the derivatives trend towards being bad. Poor old wojak has been heavily misused.

Favorite: YouTube Poop and Soundclowns, though I also enjoy Baneposting and Deltarune memes. Three of these are generally pretty high effort and godlike
Least favorite: Every horny meme (horny jail, handholding, breast milk, etc…), they're painfully unfunny and uninteresting

Yes the original wojak was kek, especially when there is >greentext next to the image.

How did I miss mentioning Deltarune, my other favorite brand of memes? Big shot, weed Ralsei, Chapter 3 Susie yelling at Kris, and many others

Least favorite has to be the Soyjack/Soyboy memes. I don't have a particular favorite, but I hate it when one user will try to revive a deadpooled meme because they are the only one who finds it funny.

Wait, I got it. I was reminded of something I absolutely hate.

That "wow, cool robot" meme. It ignores things like context and intent, is used to push people's personal agendas and acts like people who don't talk about it are incapable of understanding messages in media.

It's basically a combination of "2smart4u", the english teacher going "the curtain is blue" and "things I don't like" memes.

No favorites tbh, though I'm might be mildly biased towards original spanish/latam memes.

For my least favorites ones… I don't really like hornyposting and I find most TikTok challenges cringe.

I miss the MLG edits. They were absolutely stupid, but some creators were able to come up with incredible cringe gamertags for their videos:

Problem was you were limited to Mountain Dew, Doritos, and Dubstep. So it was understandable as to why it died so quickly.

Least favorite will probably have to be the Soyjaks.

Favorites: Expand Dong, Roll Safe, Puffer Fish Eating Carrot, and Lamar Roasts Franklin

Expand Dong made me laugh out loud with its creative use of letters. Roll Safe went hard and was even acknowledged by the actor. Puffer Fish Eating Carrot was unusual but made me interested in these animals. Lamar Roasts Franklin was exactly how you blow somebody out.

Least Favorite: Minecraft Good Fortnite Bad, Wow Cool Robot, and Girls vs Boys

Minecraft Good Fortnite Bad was nothing more than an excuse to extend a petty feud over video game preferences, all politics aside. Wow Cool Robot came off as pretentious and insufferable and a means of glotating about the way one consumes media. The ironic edits that have come out of it were the only redeeming factors. Girls vs Boys is low-key stereotyping as if girls cannot be anything but mature and boys cannot get their acts together. It’s also become repetitive with the same punchlines but with some variation. Best not to fall into the trap of the battle of the sexes.

New favorite: gif captions. I’ve seen so many clever jokes and templates used on the discords I frequent. The meme is quite versatile, so I don’t think it will become stale for a while. Even if they do, I can just unsubscribe from r/whenthe and continue browsing I mean lurking the few good+active discord servers I’m on. After all, memes “dying” is very much an avoidable problem for certain online places.

My favorite memes are irreverent ones, shitposting and hornyposting included. Not a specific type of meme or a specific format but more memes in general that do not take themselves seriously emulate for me the various forum in-joke and internet humor that I was raised on.

Conversely, I have a distaste for the politicize memes of today. At one point in time, you were mocked or trolled for having any kind of strong opinion but now internet denizens revel in this type of discourse. From a social science perspective, it is interesting how rapid communication has transformed political discourse, but as someone trying to enjoy their time on the internet I find such conversations tiring.
