We do not need separate entries for each and every member of the FNaF cast.

Okay so after reading through this thread, can we agree that:

1. We can neither allow a broad "characters permissible" or "characters denied" rule. We need precise criteria

2. Whether or not we should write entries about characters comes down to specific conditions, not unlike other memes: does it have spread, does it have fame, does it have mutations, etc.

3. Simply being part of a popular fandom is not merit enough for making an entry for a character.

4. Becoming known outside a fandom and generating its own memes/submemes and mutating into other memes is merit enough for making an entry for a character

5. A character entry should detail what memes are created around the character and how that character has spread across the internet

6. A character entry should not exist just to discuss the character itself as that information can go into parent subculture articles or other wiki's

Does this sound right and fair?

I'd say that seems like pretty solid criteria to decide on what characters get entries.

Perfection.

I can understand Foxy getting an Entry, but why the random Fan?

The fan has picked up a weird following, since it's one of the few constant objects in all the games and the player stares at it the whole time. That's how I'd explain it, at least.

I like how everyone uses the Smash Bros. entries as examples of good character entries.
Have you even looked at vocaloid sub-entries?

If Akita Neru got confirmed, there is a reason for Springtrap to be confirmed.

First line of Akita Neru entry: "Akita Neru (Japanese: 亞北ネル) is a fan-made Vocaloid character which is originally a gijinka version of trolls vandalizing Hatsune Miku threads in the Japanese textboard community 2channel."

The article clearly explains how it's not just a entry about any famous character. The creation and spread is largely by fans via the internet. She would not exist if the internet did not perpetuate her

First line of Springtrap entry: "Springtrap is a violent animatronic resembling a large anthropomorphic rabbit which is the main antagonist of the jump scare horror game Five Nights at Freddy’s 3."

And we need an article for this on a meme/viral phenomenon database because…?

If Character A deserves an entry then character B deserves one too!

This is a fallacy

The other existing character entries don't set the standard for all the ones to come. Many of those older articles had their own unique reasons for going up and/or the entry conditions were different during that time.

Each character is different and should be considered based on their own merit, not based on other entries already being there

This is exactly what I had in mind.

I think if the character has fame outside of what they're part of, then it warrants an entry. However, just because a character is part of something big but the character isn't immensely popular, then just add them to the main entry.

Indeed it does.

We should implement this right away

As for the current entries. As I said previously, the Onus is on their writers to prove they have memetic spread (and if they don't we'll have the Merc with a Mouth show them what real fear is like)
