Are you, perhaps, referring to this Star Wars meme?
No, it's when someone's comment is something like their username. For example, if someone is complaining about taxes and his username is "r0nswans0ne", then someone would say how his username checks out
Yes American Ronin is right. It’s different from the “it’s an older meme but it checks out” macro image.
I’ve also seen people on Reddit say stuff like “Profile doesn’t check out” after someone posts something ridiculous in the Ask me anything sub, so there may be some variations.
We already have an entry on that. It's called Beetlejuicing
No, it’s not the same thing. Beetlejuicing is when someone shows up with a username related to a post. Like this:
Posted by someone:
“You know that Luke Skywalker really overreacted when he found out who his father was.”
Luke Skywalker: “How would you know? Have you ever gone through that?”
Someone: “Oh, sh*t.”
I’m talking about when someone makes a post or comment unintentionally related to their own name and someone replies to them with “username checks out.” An oversimplified (but maybe not) example would be:/r/Dessert
Posted by FatKid123:
“My favorite dessert is cake!”
Reply by someone: Username checks out.
It’s a classic!!
