Characters you hate the most

What is the character you hate the most? Keep in mind you have to choose one based on how much this character rustle your jimmies and the other characters from the story (cartoon, anime,OVA,movie, videogame, etc). Also, lets choose them from a media with a real story, because It would be easy to fill this post with characters like Spongebob, Brian Griffin or from a bad show like Teen Titans Go.

Mine is Big Smoke from GTA San Andreas. Most of the bad things that CJ and his brother have to live was because of this asshole . I just hate this guy because he knew them all his life, yet he didn't sweat a drop of killing their mother and betrayed all the group. I could easily hate Ryder too, but at least he was an asshole all the time, but I actually liked Big Smoke character until CJ discovers all his doing.

So there are characters I love to hate (good villians), and characters I just think are poorly written and have no redeeming qualities.

And my peeve comes from the later one.

Characters Who's Powers Dictate Their Personality

Oh, my, fucking, god would writers for once stop using this trope all together, I swear if I see another "Ice Using Character with a Cold Personality" or a "Fire Using Character who is Aggressive and Short Tempered" I will tear my hair out.

This is actually part of the reason why I like Touhou so much; the characters personality has nothing to do with their powers, but the way they use their powers is entirely dictated by their personal preference and intelligence. Also by extension Fullmetal Alchemist, where all the characters have the exact same power but their personal preference decides what alchemy they use.

Doing that makes you remember the characters for who they where, and not what power they used.

Deus Ex Machina Protagonists
– Hero(ine)s who only can get the job done through miracles and blatant violations of the setting's established rules. Win a fight through you own power already!

Assholes In Love Instead of True Tsunderes
– I'm pretty being shy and insecure around your love interest doesn't give you the right to be on your period 24 / 7 when they are around.

Complete Monsters
– There's sympathetic villains, there's villains we love to hate, and then there are these assholes. You don't just hate them because they oppose you, you hate every goddamn fiber of their being. They cross lines like they're playing hopscotch, they have no justifiable cause, they are evil even by the setting's standard, and they just wallow in every sin they commit. It's unbearable to watch at times, as you just want to rip them the fucking shreds the second they come on screen. . .

Hathaway Noa from Char's Counter Attack Now I can't tell you what he did to piss me off cause it would spoil too much, but he is without a doubt my most hated character from the gundam franchise. He's worse than Shinn, that's how bad he is

Shinn Asuka Good god, again i can't reveal what he did without spoiling but lets just say every time he's on screen you wish someone shoot his ass with a beam rifle, it would be even better if Kira did to him what he did to Nicol

Kira Yamato He is one of the biggest pussy ass whiners i've ever seen, and he's a huge hypocrite too, he wants every one to stop fighting and yet without a doubt has shot down and killed more people then anyone else in the series.

Katz Kobayashi This kid bitches and complains more than Kamille does, his fate was very satisfying

Elpeo Puru Everyone will talk about how cute puru was, i thought she was an annoying little shit.

Naruto Pre-Shippuden I swear to god there is like never a moment when he stops talking, and when he talks its almost always yelling

Dee-Dee She just doesn't respect personal space, it pisses me off

Sarah from EEnE Holy hell i can't stand her, every episode i'm just waiting, hoping that Ed will snap just beat the shit out of her.

Sonic I've never like him, he has a massive ego and it gets on my nerves

This is kind of a broad one

Strong Female Characters that are Assholes There's nothing wrong with having a strong female character, but when their idea of strong is unnecessary aggression and constantly talking shit about men, then it gets on my nerves A LOT every single time they're on screen i just want someone to kick there ass and bring there massive ego's down a notch. And whenever they do get there asses kicked it's really satisfying

@DJKing

About the complete monsters thing, doesn't that just count as villains you love to hate? Because the fact that they're so evil just makes it that much more satisfying when their ass is kicked.

Example:

Also, when you were talking about the lame villain with no motivation at all and just does evil things for evil's sake, all I could think of was Volgin from MGS3. That guy was the most evil character in the entire series but he was so generic and paint by numbers. He was the stereotypical Bond villain with no personality (which based on the game he's in was probably on purpose). Just like the soundtrack that plays when you fight him, he's basically evil personified. I never really liked him, mainly because he doesn't feel like a Metal Gear villain. Most other Metal Gear villains fall under the sympathetic villain trope, but he was just an asshole.

The thing is, I think I love hating the Punisher. I feel he's a villain that other heroes barely tolerate. As much as I love the films with a Punisher-like character where it is just a guy gunning down tons of bad guys, the Punisher doesn't fit the Universe he is in or the title of hero. I enjoy watching characters like Spider-Man tell him that even though there are people who have lost just as much and sometimes more then the Punisher they don't need to kill and when he doesn't listen they just beat the crap out of him because he is a bad guy and he deserves it.

Wall of text incoming! Take cover!

I can't really say that I hate these characters, but rather the people who decided that this is a good idea.

I'm talking about blatantly overpowered and unfair boss characters in 2D fighters (and why not 3D fighters as well).

Now I know that the purpose of the Arcade mode is to make people spend their money to try and beat the big bad boss. But when I'm playing a fighter on a console, I want to be able to fight on equal terms (to some extent). Since none of my friends like playing 2D fighters.

Bots are already able to keep on imputting commands one after another without mistakes or without breaking their combo. And they also adapt to a new situations (control mirroring) immediately. That much I'm willing to accept. But what I don't want to do, is fight a boss that drains your health, has permabuffs, gains super gauge automatically, cuts your health bar in half with one super, and uses these moves in a way that make them nearly unavoidable

And then you have to wait for ages for the continue screens, character selects, dialoque, etc. Only to get to another 30 second match, and then go through the same shit again.

The first of these banes to my enjoyment was Boss I-No from GGX2, and fighting her as a boss pretty much made me hate the character herself, which is something I really didn't want.

And the second one to notice is Unlimited Hazama from BlazBlue. Now I really like Hazama as a character, but his boss appearance is such bullshit, that it almost made me hate him too (although I've heard that Unlimited Hakumen is worse).

I wish those bosses were more like Shadow Labrys from Persona 4 Arena. She's a playable character from the start, and thus balanced like all the other characters. Granted the AI can control a micromanagement needing dual character like her easily, and she had a slightly higher AI difficulty that the other battles, but at least she didn't have any bullshit permabuffs on her when you had to fight her.

Oh, and I also hate annoying tutor/mentor characters. Especially if you can't turn them off, and have to go through some stupid dialoque without the option to skip it.

I know this isn't the worst example I could give, but the only thing I remember from the League of Legends tutorial is this:

Stay Behind your minions. Stay Behind your minions.
Stay Behind your minions. Stay Behind your minions.
Stay Behind your minions. Stay Behind your minions.
Stay Behind your minions. Stay Behind your minions.

"About the complete monsters thing, doesn’t that just count as villains you love to hate? Because the fact that they’re so evil just makes it that much more satisfying when their ass is kicked."

I don't consider them villains I love to hate, as they have zero personality, little or no real motive besides wanting to destroy everything in sight, and have no humanity to speak of.

Basically this:
– Love to Hate Villains: Good at their job, entertaining, and usually take out the time to make sure you know it.
– Complete Monsters: Irredeemably evil, unlikable, These guys' deaths will be a favor to the whole world.

suzaku kururugi, the only character i can think of off the cuff i really hated from the beginning to the very end of the series, i still wish he'd die and the ending didn't satisfy me in that point. it's not like i'm disliking him, and it's not that hate you get for characters who just killed a character you liked, no, the hate i feel for suzaku kururugi is for his existence as a whole, his character, his ideals and his actions. of course there was nia and her racist ass, and rolo who murdered shirley, i hated those characters too, but only when they appeared in the series, my hatred for kururugi was so big that it occupied my mind beyond watching the series. long after i've comprehended nia's and rolo's (not that i sympathise with them, but at least there was some explainable reason why they did what they did) actions, i still hated suzaku, i hated how the writers clearly wanted me to have sympathy and understanding for him, his existence in itself was/is unforgivable, incomprehensible and it pains me that the ending doesn't leave any doubts about his well-being.

Bullies. I hate them. Pathetic barbarians, who enjoy humiliating others in front of the entire school, attacking anyone who can't fight back, and broking everybody's self-confidence for no reason. They think they're badasses, but the truth is they are nothing more than miserable assholes. This includes Biff Tannen, Helga and Diamond Tiara.

And yes, I was a victim of bulling. Maybe this is the reason why I hate bullies in movies, games TV series and cartoons.

For characters that I have an intense hatred for would have to be anyone that gets away without being punished properly and just does nothing in general. The biggest example of this was Bendy from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, who got away with everything while all the characters got blamed for what he did. I hate it when characters know someone's bad and they don't get punished instead framing it on the people they know.
Characters I just get tired of would have to be the Ms. Fanservice trope. I can tolerate fan service, but if the character giving the fan service has a cliched personality (air-headed being one that comes to mind) I just get tired of them fast, with an example being the nurse from High School of the Dead. However fan service characters I can tolerate are usually are self aware in a fourth-wall breaking manner and can at least get some of a likeability out of them and contribute to the other characters, with Yoko from Gurren Lagann and Kurumu from Rosario + Vampire being good examples.

Are people really criticizing the way villains are written because they're easily hateable? You, I understand preferring those of the three-dimensional variety, but it's a bit unreasonable to expect that all the time. Hell, the villain as plot device (rather than actual character) is as old as fiction. The problem comes when it's clearly done out of laziness.
My favorite example of this done well is the D-Reaper from Digimon Tamers, which started as a simple security program but evolved to gain a cold, sterile intelligence, and whose singular purpose of population control is only "evil" because the members of that population evolved beyond simple programs themselves, and especially when it discovered and fought its way into the real world. The key here is the creativity and logic behind the monster's creation.

Okay, I know that you're supposed to hate this guy, but the fact he appears like this just makes his treachery too obvious. Also the fact he gets blackmail information from is profession is just depraving. At least Raoul Silva was a hacker that worked in secret, this guy likes to be well known.

I am not a fan of Unused Characters.

Let me explain.

You know the big reveal of some big bad guy or some big good guy? Then they never show up forever in a day or die in a really pathetic way or have no forbearance on the story at all.

These are characters with big names but do shit all throughout the rest of the game, they are the big reveal only to be the most retarded thing to exist in the canon lore or laughably easy to take care of. There are no build ups despite the fact there should be build ups, and their role in a player's progression is almost non-existent except for that one tiny part.

Great example is Benny from Fallout New Vegas. Essentially he is known for doing only one thing, shooting the player. Nothing else is important about him except he does menial work and is just moderately ambitious. It was kind of a disappointment for me that he gets his own cutscene and shit and you suspect he is a big honcho, but nope, just a smaller character.

Another great example is Ulfric Stormcloak/General Tullius. Both of these characters are suppose to be big players in Skyrim, but all they do is answer questions and and plot while the player goes out essentially doing everything for them, only appearing in any combat 1 time.

The big thing I hate is that these characters could have been a hundred times more useful, competent, and interesting but they wasted it on moderation. Half of these characters only get shit done once and then get nailed to the ground. How do you suspect a player to feel the epic adventure and urgency of their quest if everyone else is such a bland fuck whom make the rocks of the game more intriguing.

The whole point is that Benny had the chip, making him potentially the most dangerous man in New Vegas, but that was only to emphasize how important the Platinum Chip is. If a small time guy who owns a share of a casino is wanted dead by every faction because he holds the item then it shows how important it is. When you know he has that chip and everyone is telling you to get it then you really want to takedown this guy who shoots you and nearly kills you. But you realize without the Chip he isn't even a threat outside some normal guy because he is not a leader of this big faction like the others. The point is he is some lackey for Mr. House and not really a big villain, just an asshole.

I wouldn't blame the characters because overall the whole Civil War really doesn't have any affect and is just a questline that kind of tricks you into that it's important and really has no real gameplay or world change but that would add more work for Bethesda and would be hard to do, I'm guessing.

Unlimited Hazama is a cakewalk once you get used to the combos he does. He's actually very predictable, save for that goddamn fatal counter he got. Its even more satisfying to rip him to shreds with U. Ragna (Who is ten times worse than U. Hazama, think about normal Rgana only almost every combo he does brings him back to full health)
(WALL OF TEXT BELOW, ENTER AT THINE OWN RISK)
Back on Topic, I LOATHE Karma Houdinis. Those guys that do absolutely evil shit and never pay for it. The most heinous example is Mr. Krabs in newer spongebob. Now, one of my previous posts stated that newer Spongebob isn't all terrible. Mr. Krabs however, seems to have absolutely no redemption. He never pays for a damn thing he does, and some of those actions made me want to reach into the television and tear him to shreds.
Another character I hate, with no form of redemption, is a Pokemon. A certain motherfucker named Rotom. And by extension, Garchomp and Talonflame. Now, normally, I'd have no problem with these three. Its just that they are on EVERY. SINGLE. TEAM. EVER. People think they automatically win if they use these three, when in fact all of them are hilariously easy to beat, but nobody thinks about actual team building, they just listen to whatever hyper competitive bullshit they see. It has hit a point where the only reason I use a Garchomp is to make my Dragon Type team complete. I'd much rather use Flygon, even then. Talonflame is just hilariously weak. All of my Pokemon, even my WEAVILE, survived a Brave Bird from this little Robin and immediately smacked it in the ass. Rotom is just hideously generic to me. It needs everything else alive just to do its single job of being an annoying fuck.
Finally, I cannot stand it when writers Underpower the Main Character.
This is a HUGE problem I have with Blazblue, an otherwise incredible fighting game. Ragna is always just too fucking weak, and this leaks into gameplay, too. As of late, Ragna went from being utterly awesome to being one step behind everyone and everything. Especially Hakumen, who is normally tolerable but is really hard for me to like considering that there are three characters stronger than he is. Another example is Ash, the reason I stopped watching the Pokemon anime. It is CRINGEWORTHY seeing how badly this guy loses sometimes. And then you realize that half the time these characters are met by Mary Sues, who are ten times worse. I'll end it here, I don't feel like typing anymore…

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this piece of shit:

And also I hate Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto. One for be useless as fuck, the other one for being all time depressing emo, and the other one for being annoying as fuck.

THIS MOTHER FUCKER.
Honestly, his whole episode made me lose my shit. It wasn't funny, it wasn't entertaining, it was actually painful to watch. Bendy was just a downright douchebag that got away with everything. And he doesn't even get what he deserves in the end, which is what makes him all the more hate worthy. I loved Foster's Home, but Bendy can go die in a fire.

I have an hateboner for this guy:

He's dumb, ugly, barely useful and yet he's appearing in too many episodes of the first season.
While has he to be one of the main pokemons instead of these cuties?

Characters i hate include
Reisuke Houjou

THe reason i hate this character is that i legitimately received nightmares from THIS particular face of his. Also his soul-less stares didnt help with the added nightmare fuel.

Next character
Quinn Morgendorffer
!.jpg/200px-QuinnOHNO!!.jpg!
SHe is the reason why i havent been able to watch Daria without getting a headache. All of her whining, groaning and complaining puts any Chrysler product to shame. Her whiny voice also makes it feel like someone is standing on my neck. my dislike for her is so great that i made a new saying when someone acts like a brat or is just plain whiny. "You went full Quinn! YOU NEVER GO FULL QUINN!"

I dislike Jimmy Neutron a lot and here are the 2 main reasons. First of all, he's a bland character who all he does is talk about science and boast about how smart he is (he's not, judging by his actions) every single time! Characters so obsessively in one thing are boring and annoying as hell. But the second reason is even worse. Despite his "intelligence" and "scientific" mind, he is a dickhead who disrespect even his own few friends, by turning them into his guinea pigs or by destroying their dreams and hopes. Just have a look at the Christmas special episode, where Jimmy Neutron almost destroyed the Christmas during an attempt to prove that Santa Claus doesn't exist, even if his own scientific instruments does show that something is going on.

In fewer words, Jimmy Neutron is a stubborn asshole who disrespect and insult the scientific methodology, the scientists and science itself. I'd rather being friend with Carl and Sheen. They're idiots, but not pathetic douchebags!

G4 Tirek: It's probably more of a "love-to-hate" thing, but I just… don't like him. I found his motives bland and his actions unforgivable, and people were sadly too blinded by "muh nostalgia" and "ZOMFG DRAGON BALL Z BEST FINALE EVAR" to notice. Honorable mention to Chrysalis, who juggled like twenty idiot balls.

Suzaku Kururugi from Code Geass: I know itaboo already covered this, but words cannot express my absolute spite towards this authoritarian douchebag.
Jaina Proudmoore from World of Warcraft: Before the Cataclysm expansion, she used to be a pretty chill person, but now she's just a racist who will go out of her way to be an asshole at every opportunity.
Marie Schrader from Breaking Bad I swear to god, every time this bitch speaks a few of my brain cells die. Then again, I'm also willing to bet that was what the writers intended to do with her character.

I just don't like Superman. He has had a few good Elseworld stories (Injustice, Red Son) but they focus more on the idea of Superman as mostly just a plot point. Otherwise I find he has boring powers, boring/no personality and he just tends to lower the quality of a good story for me. Nothing out of the films and books have really changed my opinion.

Oh wait I have another one:

You actually had to advance the story as this dweeb in Phantasy Star Universe to be able to play the rest of the game as your custom character.

Charterers I hate the most. Hmm tough call. But I have a couple nominations:

First there's this asshole:

Patric Star. In the words of the Mysterious Mr. Enter, is a sociopath. Between playing dumb to mess with his friend to being a terrible petsitter. And If you thought Mr Krabs was a Karma Houdini…

On the side of villains I have Prince Hans from Frozen. Another sociopath that attempted to gain political power by letting one of the princesses freeze to death and attempting to kill her sister. AFTER he attempts to woo both to marry one of them

I'm more on the fence on this next one but I think this is worth mentioning regardless. Iris Heart of Hyperdimension Neptunia (specifically Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory). Imaging Jekyll and Hyde, genderbent with "Jekyll" being a ditz named Plutia and "Hyde" being a dominatrix who violated most of the cast (and traumatized two of the characters as a result). (Just so we're clear this is for the Hyde half. I actually like the "Jekyll" part of Plutia)

On a less ambiguous note from the same game as Iris Heart we have Mr Badd (the businessman on the left.) What did he do? Well He (along with the rest of the game's villains) kidnapped innocent kids (girls specifically,) to attempt to make them goddesses, (Long story short Neptunia has a multiverse and Victory's universe is one where Apotheosis is rare but possible, has a high failure rate and failing turns those that attempt it into monsters) however he treated the failures like his own children, that's not the worse part. the Worse part is that the kids-turned-monsters have a familiar (not romantic, thank god) case of Stockholm Syndrome

So two villains and two "heroes"

The characters i really hate the most are really almost of the politican NPCs in Morrowind. They're all bigotted assholes who care nothing but they're own personal interests. I mean seriously! an ancient millenia old vampire that has the power of the Gods has awoken and threaten to destroy or enslave all of morrowind, and all those guys worry about is their fucking ego about not wanting a man to lead the fight or that they want a position or wealth beyond measure and all of that crap.
I swear, i wanted to kill all of them if the game actually allowed me to do it.

As an extra one, the motherfucking King of morrowind himself. The fucker sent assassins to kill me and he comes to me like nothing happened and ask for my help? well screw you! The Nerevarine serves for the people, not you asshole aristocrats!

Probably gonna get a lot of flack for this, but here goes

I absolutely dislike the new Chie Satonaka.
I generally love all of the original Persona 4's voice-acting cast. I spent a hundred hours on that game, going for my second go with my sister right now. The characters are dynamic, realistic, and easy to care for. It's got some of the best writing and delivery for an anime game.

In the newer versions of the game and its sequels around half of the cast had already been switched out. Teddy's new va does meh but at least he actually attempts to sound close to the original, haven't really checked up on Naoto, but man… Chie has been transformed into a completely different person. It's the same lines and the same character, but the way the new va delivers it is so different and so over-the-top that all my hype and excitement in getting the next installments in the game have been reduced dramatically (still getting P5 though.)

Chie's original voice was unique. It was low, but not masculine. It was mellow, not sultry. It was great to witness an animesque game without a really high-pitched character which is abundant really. Then Chie's new va arrived because her old one quit the industry for good. Sigh.

A lot of people seem to like the new VA so that's good for them. Too bad I'm stuck in a rut. You can't expect players like me who spent so much time with a character to be okay with seeing the character again but done in a completely different way. No, by that time we already care for the character too much to have them changed. Honestly, the new Chie is not the Chie I know, and with half of the P4 cast replaced, I feel like I lost a few good friends…

Patrick Star used to be a stupid but adorable character, something that I call "good fool". Now he's evil itself! If you have friends like Patrick, you just don't need enemies.

Cornelia Li Britannia

Cornealia was well written, she stood out from the crowd, and every second she was on screen, I wanted to wring her fucking neck. She was just frustrating, and it was completely intentional. She always had an ace up her sleeve and managed to fuck with Zero, the Black Knights, the other Britannians, and Lelouch, especially during the last few moments of R1. That whole sequence where Lelouch finally pulls one over on her in Episode 24 is the most magical thing I have ever seen.

Ever since then, I haven't watch Pokemon. I still play Pokemon though.

Also, I don't like Shinn Asuka, he could have been a likable character, but let's face it. Gundam Seed Destiny is bad.

I hate this character so much I won't even go in to the depth I did with my previous posts. I will just say this. She is Dan Slott's horrible new character that is just really, really, really, really bad.

He's basically the Pokeanime's answer to Shadow the Hedgehog.

I Googled her, and good fucking lord, I was cringing before I'd finished one damn sentence of her wiki article. I'd thought X-23 was the worst R63 sue Marvel would ever have, but unfortunately I've been proven wrong.

She was bitten by the exact same fucking radioactive spider that bit Spider-Man, and at exactly the same fucking time, and then she suddenly gets into a sexual relationship with him! How the hell could anyone possibly fucking think this was a good character idea??

This is the same company that also ruined Spidey's long established relationship and the the charater was made by the exact same writer that killed him just so Doc Ock can body jack him and play hero.
