Some of the vehicles look better in my opinion, but the whole remake just screams 'uncanny valley', so I'm not sure how well it will be received. The new Bob especially is pretty abysmal to the simple design of the stop-motion clay animation original.

Ewwwwwww! Like Socks said, it's just the uncanny valley. Also, it almost looks photoshopped how he's an adult but has the face of a 5 year old. It just adds to the creepiness. I don't see why they had to redesign it. Bob was fine how he always was. What are they going to change now? Elmo? Dora? Barney? You don't just change iconic characters for no reason like that. For one, people have to get used to this shit, and also, this is way less memorable than the short body and massive oval head that Bob had. He's just generic. This hurts to look at. It seems weird that I'm pissed at something I'll probably never watch and haven't seen in over a decade, but this is just a poor choice, even for kids. This seems like one of those shitty decisions made by statisticians that conduct bullshit studies with false results on what they think kids really like and then force kids to like.

↑ It's just a money decision. You know how cheap it is to get a team of animators to produce a computer generated show these days? Certainly cheaper, faster, and easier than getting a team to produce a stop-motion, clay animated series. Computer animators are almost a dime a dozen out of college and new studios are popping up every day.

Still though, couldn't they have kept the designs while changing the animation-style? Not that hard. There's some other reason for the design change. The CG thing is a significant part of why, but there has to be something else.

I was expecting something that looked like the original designs but done in CG instead of stop-motion, but Bob just looks really gross to me in this redesign. His eyes are too small and too far apart, and as someone already mentioned he just looks like a kid. Everything else looks fine but Bob is just creepy

I'm curious of what Spud The Scarecrow's redesign would look like along with Pilchard The Cat.
