What is your point exactly?
Yeah, we grow food to both feed humans, and to feed animals to feed humans. Some people consider this an inefficient use of resources, preferring an either plant based diet, or consumption of animal protein that is rased on food stock that is generally considered non-consumable by humans (grass fed beef).
Most biofuels are grain based because it is cheaper to turn them into fuel than second generation cellulose based biofuels like switchgrass and non-grain components of grain crops, and the interest in biofuel innovations generally has slumped.
What does this have to do with the Economist?
