Calm down. I'm sure there has been worse mod abuse. It's not a common thing for MScratch to do either.

You are clearly over-reacting to this because it affects the MLP entry. Calm down and take a step away to think about this. Is it worth removing a good mod because he temporarily locked a gallery on your favourite entry?

Eh, that's going overboard. Reversing a gallery lock requires trivial effort, and it was only down for a few minutes. It's kind of hard to justify that kind of retribution when the damage was practically nonexistent.

Re-read the thread. For anyone who wants what would basically amount to as an "update" to galleries listed in this post

Gallery: Tumblr

• Current Status: Open. Still collects posts which are better suited for other galleries, but not nearly to the degree it used to. This is likely due to the fact this gallery is not used much in general compared to what it used to be. Still consider it potential for a lock, but seems extremely unlikely if things continue the way they are right now.

Gallery: Alternative Universe

• Current Status: Indefinitely locked. Please use the tag Alternate Universe when uploading elsewhere on the site.

Gallery: Crossover

• Current Status: Open. Still gains some posts which are arguably more relevant elsewhere, but the infrequency of this is not enough to seriously merit locking. If it continues like it is currently, locking seems unlikely.

Gallery: Hentai Quotes

• Current Status: Open. As it was one of the most discussed galleries for a potential lock, there was a bit better use of the gallery by most of the users. There are still issues of people uploading images that are significantly more than the Hentai Quote when cropping to just the quote is extremely easy, which can be a problem, but overall the gallery is much better than previously. If things continue the way they are now, it is unlikely to become locked. Due to the inherit nature of the gallery, however, it is the easiest to become abused.

Gallery: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

• Current Status: Open. This gallery still suffers from reposts, as do most large galleries. However, users no longer post Equestria Girls images there, tagging is significantly better and Submemes are used more often. The gallery is still a black hole when it comes to older stuff, but newer stuff has not been a problem. Likelihood of lock if this continue as is is almost nil.

Gallery: Pokemon

• Current Status: Currently Open. This gallery has had a very large turn around. Users are much more likely to look up the correct sub entries to upload things. A few users have made sure that nearly every image is sourced. While there are still a few problem images uploaded on occasion, as a whole this gallery has had the best turn around of all the entries previously listed. None of the mods have considered seriously locking it for quite some time and I would say the likelihood of locking if things continue as they are now is zero. Please keep up the good work.

Gallery: Super Smash Brothers

• Current Status: Open* Gallery is rarely used now that popularity of the game has subsided. As such, the gallery almost never gets images that should be elsewhere. Currently extremely unlikely to be locked, but this is more due to the gallery not being used much in general. Still, this gallery was getting better between the time this thread was created and when it started falling into less use.

Gallery: Reaction Images

• Current Status: Locked (mods are discussing the length currently. Most agree lock will likely be temporary). The gallery has a hodgepodge record. Compared to when this thread was first made, some things have been greatly improved upon. Memes that have full entries on were much less likely to be posted here (though not perfect). Likewise, due to mandatory tagging, users would not simply upload an image without any metadata.

However, are still other issues. The gallery would still get uploads of images that could in no way be interpreted as a "reaction" image. Additionally, while there are no images without any tags being added to the gallery, there is still the issue of people adding crap tags or tagging images with functionally nothing. This isn't a problem exclusive to this gallery, but it seems to effect this one more than the others. Likewise, the gallery notification that liked to the thread explaining the reaction:type tags has not been very well used despite it literally having to be passed over every time an image was uploaded to the gallery.

Right now there are not any current major galleries being considered for locking. Fetish galleries are always on edge, but so far they have not been significantly abused. Other mods feel free to add any galleries that I may have forgot.

Regarding the Pokemon galery, I'd like to touch up on the NSFW stuff which was mentioned as one of the gallery's issues. In its current state, the NSFW images were appearing less often save the occasional spikes, and a few users have been binge uploading sfw images which helps to maintain a balance. Given that the NSFW guidelines were revised, the material became less questionable and the borderline NC content has been purged. At least there are more images where the characters are depicted as around the age of consent, regardless of their canon age.
