Was browsing Twitter earlier this morning when I came across this.

STALKER 2 Twitter account notes there will be a metaverse that's optional and not blockchain based. At first I wondered how that was NFT since it didn't have a blockchain like those terrible jpegs of apes and lions but then they admit it to being an NFT. And from there I find out you don't need blockchains to make an NFT.

As a fan of STALKER, this is pretty disappointing even if GSC Gameworld is somehow not able to hurt the environment compared to those crappy jpegs of lions and apes. I'm still buying the game, assuming gameplay doesn't turn out to be a steaming pile down the line as soon as we get footage from gamers and reviewers but the game's taking a far back seat compared to titles like Elden Ring.
